I am expecting to take delivery of 6.2 tomorrow and hope to do the up grade asap. I rejoined the mail list today (can't cope with the normal volume of traffic!) and I am getting worried about the apparent problem with YAST on 6.2......is this wide spread? [SLE] Lilo on second drive

My son is having trouble with lilo on his second physical drive. The system will boot with a boot disk. He has the OSD/2 bootmanager on the first drive along with his windows and os/2, Suse is on a second, 1 gig drive by itself using the entire drive for the sues and swap partition. [SLE] No Luck Yet: System S L O W after upgrade

Still no luck solving this problem. I tried recompiling the kernel, but after ~8 hours of compiling time (on a P200 w/64mb) I got an error stating the kernel was too large... Arrggghhh!!!! The system doesn't seem to slow at the command line. Only in KDE is there a noticeable slowdown. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if that's just because the CLI is inherently faster, or it's due to a problem with K. The system is so slow as to be unusable at this point, so any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated! Thanks! Mike > I just upgraded to 6.2, & now my system is running VERY slow. When I send email to suse-linux-e(a)suse.com I get a "bounce" which displays the following message: "Sorry. Your message could not be delivered to: Adam Otasek (Mailbox or Conference is full.)" I put the word 'bounce' in quotes because the message appears on the suse list anyway. I use a Matrox Millenium G200 with 8MB SDRAM. It's an OEM version that doesn't come with all the fancy packaging, but I got it for about $75.00. It's probably even less now. I like my Voodoo Banshee as well. The nVidia-optimized servers are reported to be wickedly fast in X Windows, though I can't speak from experience on that one... I like my STB GlyderMax2 (Permedia2v chipset) and it's PCI knock-off brand brother that I've been running for several months. Don't buy a SiS. I wouldn't advise an ATi (I have a personal grudge, so ignore that last recommendation). Matrox servers for the older family (Not the G400, G200's, I hear, are still shady). Don't buy an S3 Savage series. What do you want? [SLE] Netcard cuts out

I am running Suse 6.1 on an AMD6-2 350. I loaded Suse on a fresh hard drive. I have a macronix pro-120(b) pci fast ethernet adapter. I am using the tulip module driver with option=0. the problem is that my card show up on the hub indicator lights right up to the point in bootup where it loads the netcard driver then the indicator light cuts out. What am I forgeting to do? [SLE] tty1 crash

Hi all, Has anyone had any problems under KDE with tty1 crashing? It doesn't bring KDE down, nor cause any real problems. Mainly, a message stating "%connect: Connection timed out" (% is the prompt) is shown and the prompt is left hanging (i.e. on the line below the message). I'm a little curious as to the cause of this, although a carriage return brings the prompt back.
