[SuSE Linux] new motherboard, onboard agp, and sound

I'm fishing here. I figure someone might know, it dosn't hurt to ask. I just got an Alton M-590 pc-100 motherboard. It's got a SiS 6326 AGP 8meg video onboard. I can't get it to setup right with xf86config, nor XF86Setup. XF86Setup will just give me blank screens, and xf86config will let me startx, but only in vga, 320x320 (or some ridiculous resolution), and the screen is HUGE and useless. The xterm fills the screen. Even with all the lowest vga settings. Am I wasting my time trying to get this onboard AGP working? Can I slip my old trident PCI card back in there, and have both work? The SiS driver for win95 and NT4 both seem to work. Any Clues? [SuSE Linux] Small lan ?

Hello! I have successfully conected two machines via PLIP connection - i can telnet from one to another, ... BUT !! I only have one modem and would like to connect that modem to internet and somehow have both machines using internet - how can I do this ? Could anyone please help me I am using X on one machine (an 586) and no x on the other machine so I would like to use Netscape to access the net - how can that be done - I can get mail from the server (an 486) from my netscape messenger, but I cannot connect to the web :(( ANY help aprecciated! I think you have to tell it to run at 100 -- and I never could figure out how in Linux. My current setup is a Win98 machine with Sygate tagging a DirecPC sattelite system. ON the Windows box, I set the card to be 100 and now my Linux box also runs at 100 to it. [SuSE Linux] Why cant people on mailing lists read?

Dear diary, I have often wondered why people who can't read subscribe to mailing lists. I have never heard of any list, where you unsubscribed by sending to the list itself. Additionally, I have never heard of any list, where new subscribers did not get an e-mail with instructions on how to unsubscribe. And especially on this list, where every mail includes unsubscribe info, the only explanation for the many "unsubscribe", "remove" and the like _must_ be that the people sending them simply _can_not_read_! My question then is: If they can't read in the first place, WHY do they subscribe? Hi All, I don't know why S.u.S.E doesn't have any newsgroup for their product while other linux distributor has theirs? Anyway, I suggest there should be newsgroups so we don't have to browse through 5-6 hundred email to find out answers to our problem. I think its not me, but most of you out there feel the same way. So, we all need to send our feedback to S.u.S.E Inc. our need as customers.
