How much ever hard we GNU people argue, it seems that these Linux
people won't accept our side. It has been more than a decade now (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU/Linux_naming_controversy ) and they
don't seem to accept prefixing GNU. You know what we GNU people should
do ?
We should complete http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Hurd so that we
don't have to fight with these people who insist on omitting GNU. Now,
you channelize all your energy for the completion of Hurd rather than
arguing with these Linux-ey people. We can then call it whatever we
want. That is what winners should do.
Oh. btw,
1) Remove your google groups. bcos, you know Google groups is not
exactly free software. Oh may be stop using www.google.com at all.
They track all our queries and we lose our freedom.
2) Stop using mobile phones. because they are portable surveillance
and tracking devices (
http://fsfe.org/projects/gplv3/barcelona-rms-transcript.ca.html#draft2-prev…
search for mobile )
Completing Hurd will do more benefit to the cause of free software
than arguing about pre-fixing GNU with these linux hackers in a linux
distro mailing list. So get started :-)
For everyone else,
I am communitily(1) closing the two controversial unproductive
threads. Please stop responding to the two mail threads as it is just
creating noise and doing nothing to help anyone interested in
openSUSE. The moment anyone starts a reply, it is gonna start a flame.
I sent this mail two days back, and it got bounced. This will be the
last mail from me on this thread and I wish everyone make this the
last mail on the thread.
I don't like single-issue people, nor do I think that people who turn
the world into black and white are very nice or ultimately very
useful. --- Linus

Salute!
¿Is there any OO impress template? As Ambassadors, in my opinion, we all
must have the same template to make our talks.
If we are allowed to have one and if the coordinators agree with me, I
can make a proposal of it.
Best regards.

Hi friends,
The guiding principles for ambassadors say : "We value... ... the
ideals of free software: the freedoms to use, share, study and modify,
and share modified versions. We value... the open development process
based on the freedoms of free software which fosters peer review,
responsible maintainership, individual responsibility and self
organization in a collaborative, distributed environment."
This support and advocacy of Free Software was the primary cause apart
from other things I liked about OpenSUSE that drove me to become an
ambassador for it. I appreciate the way ideals of Free Software is
being promoted by this OpenSUSE community. This means the community
definitely values the philosophy of Free Software and contributions of
Free Software Foundation along with the GNU project. But when we
support Free Software, we should always stand by our love for Free
Software Movement in every way and promote the ideologies as much as
we promote OpenSUSE. So, why are we still using "Linux" (in the wiki)
instead of calling it "GNU/Linux"? Why are not we acting brave enough
to acknowledge contributions by GNU project by just merely calling it
GNU/Linux?
Ref : http://www.gnu.org/gnu/why-gnu-linux.html
Calling OpenSUSE a GNU/Linux system will make Free Software Advocates
like me embrace this community with more ease and love.

Guys,
I haven't seen anyone create and offer a virtual drive for people to
down load test drive openSUSE. I am willing to create drives for
Parrellel, VirtualBox, and VMWare( for VMPlayer) and share via
bitorrent. Maybe if we could do one for Qemu as well.
Any thoughts, is this something we can do legally? What I was thinking
was about a 2 to 4Gig drive with the live disc install, so that it a
light footprint to play with.
