Hi to all, I have a problem with zypper (and update in general). [opensuse] Amarok failing

Right not that i like it at all but it is the default player here goes Amarok fails completely with the following report KGlobal::locale::Warning your global KLocale is being recreated with a valid main component instead of a fake component, this usually means you tried to call i18n related functions before your main component was created. You should not do that since it most likely will not work amarok: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgstreamer-0.10.so.0: undefined symbol: g_error_get_type unnamed app(7483): Communication problem with "amarok" , it probably crashed. After many various problems, now i think there is a network problem, but strangely only from my machine to www.opensuse.org or download.opensuse.org. What can be? I have to contact the maintainer of the watchguard firewall? Or maybe a conf of the SuSE? OpenSuSE 11.1 is working correctly.... 11.4 not.... Any hint is well accepted. [opensuse] ssh through vpn tunnel, openSUSE 11.4

Hello: As I could not make Cisco vpnclient work in openSUSE 11.4 I have to look for another solution. Therefore I installed and configured shrew/ike as described at http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/how-faq-forums/u… I can start ikea, load the vpn profile and can connect. Shrew soft VPN Connect windows shows: bringing up tunnel... network device configured tunnel enabled But there is no traffic through the tunnel, eg. I can't connect to other computers by ssh: ~> ssh -vvv -p 146 10.10.3.66 OpenSSH_5.8p1, OpenSSL 1.0.0c 2 Dec 2010 debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: Applying options for * debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to 10.10.3.66 [10.10.3.66] port 146. ssh stops at this point. AFAICS, ivman is not maintained any more upstream, at http://ivman.sourceforge.net/. Last update there was in 2007; dependency on HAL won't go away. Thus, I would say it's probable that one has to look for another similar tool in such non full-fledged desktop environments, if one doesn't want to do manual mounts there. Anybody knows of such a tool, i.e. one that is not HAL-dependent but uses udev/udisk, to issue user mount requests on plug events? Or shall one has to write udev-rules that issue pmount commands? [opensuse] there is still power to mouse and keyboard after shutdown

Hi to all, After I power off my system, I still have power to my mouse and keyboard as indicated by the laser light on the mouse and the numlock light on the keyboard. Is there any way that SUSE can help me figure out if this is a power module problem on my motherboard? Do I need to update the BIOS on my motherboard? Before I was using windows XP, and it did the same thing, but I just installed openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64) so I was thinking that there might be something that is fixable using SUSE but was not fixable using windows (I have a lot of other reasons for going to SUSE besides this). [opensuse] Kmail migration no 2

With the update to 4.7 I was surprised to get a kmail migration. Migration was successful but since then I cannot use kmail anymore.The error message is: KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now. The error was: You do not have read/write permission to your inbox folder. This is a nogo ;). No idea where kmail got this info. Looking into the kmail data and inbox does not give an indication about what went amiss. PS. If I leave this Error message I can look into the kmail emails. Found that the migration although finished with the message that it had finished succesful, only transfered 9 from the 31 messages from the inbox. From the suse box 12 from the 496 messages and from my family folder 0 (yes zero) from 2545 messages. My problem may have been caused by the fact that I have the mail box in MAIL on my /home directory and I can use it from several opensuse versions. Hello members, I have hp Pavilion dv6-2165tx, Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 430 @ 2.27GHz, Graphics card: nVidia GeForce GT 230M Graphics Driver NVIDIA 260.19.44. System: openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64) OS: Linux 2.6.37.1-1.2-desktop x86_64 But my laptop doesn't recognize microphone at all (on-board or pluged in mic) What other information should I provide so that I can easily get help from here?
