[opensuse] Deafult repo retry time

Is it possible to decrease the time (defaults 30 secs or so) for the repo timeout (i.e. when a particular package/rpm can't be got in a repo, during online update or software installation) -perhaps by editing a system file ? [opensuse] Problems Saving the last Session

First of all.... im sorry... im not good in english..... Well i have a couple of weeks with a problem after some KDE updates.... the problem is for example i put a widget some days ago, but if i drop the widget from the desktop.... when i restart the computer it appear again... but thats not the problem... thats part of the problem.... i used to have some icons in my panel, but when i restart the icon appeared empty.... so i tried to delete the panel and i tried to make another one..... now when i restart appear the two panels.... the thing is everything that i make in my desktop come back when i restart.... i had update the KDE everyday trying to find if any update fix the bug.... but nothing happend.... i tried to put manual session saving on the system preferences... and it doesnt work.... also i tried to start with a new session and nothing is working.... i dont know why always come back with everything it doesnt matter if i had dropped it... [opensuse] ATI drivers crash 11.1 randomly

I had 11.0 with the ATI drivers installed with no issues. I removed the ATI drivers, packman packages, etc and upgraded to 11.1 with no problems. I then re-installed the ATI drivers from the ATI repository. After doing so, at random, I will be activly using KDE 3.5 and it will just take me to the login screen just as if I had logged out of the session. Upon closer inspection the issue is xorg crashing. Has anyone else had this problem? What is the solution? [opensuse] a very weird WiFi/HTTPS combo bug

Hello fellow linuxers, Here's a really strange one. I have at least two ZIP files (here's a link to one: https://zoomwhee.mgh.harvard.edu/~bepstein/photo.zip ) which a OpenSuSE 11.1 machine can download without a glitch over a wired connection to a router, yet fails to download over a WiFi through the same router. One more machine (an OpenSuSE 11.0 one) fails to download it over WiFi. Download over a wired connection goes flawlessly on multiple machines. So does a download over regular HTTP (not available to the world). Any idea why this would be? I am totally puzzled. Thanks. [opensuse] Difference between KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop and KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Desktop?

So the official KDE4.2 announcement linked to a one-click installer that uses KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop. According to http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/KDE4 that repo "contains KDE 4.2.1 packages for all current openSUSE versions." Question is - since this is "Factory", it's not going to stay at 4.2.1, it will keep changing - right? Isn't Factory always being upgraded? Or am I wrong about that? I thought Factory was a sort of "unstable" already -- or is it more like beta, while "unstable" is alpha? I see KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE:Desktop listed as 4.2.6x, do packages from that get migrated to Factory? I'm just not real clear which repo does what. Currently I'm looking for additional KDE 4.2.x apps that I didn't get with the first 4.2-One-Click installer. Later on, I'll be looking for newer updates to higher versions of KDE 4.2.x Essentially, I want the latest SuSE-packaged KDE packages for which ever releases of KDE 4.2 that the KDE people consider stable. I'm NOT looking for the SuSE builds of KDE's unstable trees. I'm using 10.3, 11.0 and 11.1 for desktops. Is it really reasonable that it should take almost 48 hours to make the initial sync of a 2-disk RAID-1 that is 200Gb in size? The disks are of course a pair of old ATA-133 P-ATA disks, but it still seems like 40 hours too many? I have never made a software RAID before, only hardware, so I really don't know.. The last properly working one to my knowledge was 2.3.1 My work around is to use cups or ps2pdf, since postscript files are properly generated.
