[opensuse] Windows Media Player & FireFox

Hi all, I just installed 11.0 today. Now on some video sites FF can not play the video, it wants "Windows Media Player" but I've not found a Linux plugin for this. What can I do? BTW I was able to play these videos under 10.1 with SeaMonkey. [opensuse] Fan does not work

I use openSUSE 11.0 on an Acer Aspire 5315 My problem is that the fan does not work, so after about half an hour intensive work with the GIMP the machine ends abruptly. Under Vista there is no problem. Hi, is there a difference in the functionality of: zypper up -t package -t patch and using software management module in Yast/Packages/All packages/update if newer version is available? For what I see, they behave differently. What is the correct CLI zypper command to get the same behavior? [opensuse] A custom DVD possible?

I use openSuSE, and like GNOME, Many packages in the official released DVD I dunnt need(Like KDE3.5 AND KDE 4, they r too big for the small DVD), and I have to add some special Drivers or software(some r in the official repo and some not). Burn a custom DVD is possible (Not easy for a beginner like me). But can it be a choice as official service ? Is there a way to convert a technical presentation from shockwave flash to PDF? Originally the presentation was created in PowerPoint, then someone created a shockwave flash file adding also sound (presenter comments). [opensuse] suse 11: failure of libgcc42-4.2.1_20070724-17 ?

For quite some time I ran suse 11 without problems, but since a few days I can't run X any more. So I went back to 10.3, which runs all right. When trying to boot 11.0 I'll get a small console in X, without the standard KDE desk page. Trying to start KDE with the command startkde I will get kdostartupconfig: /home/julien/google-earth/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6) /opt/kde3/bin/ksplashx: /home/julien/google-earth/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6) kde-config: /home/julien/google-earth/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6) startkde: Starting up... /opt/kde3/bin/kdeinit: /home/julien/google-earth/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6) startkde: Could not start kdeinit. Check your installation. Warning: connect() failed: : No such file or directory I searched the web with "libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found" and this gave references to libgcc, so I assume this is the culprit. What to do in this case? Could I up- Or downgrade to a better libgcc? There must be a better solution than going back to Suse 10.3 level . . .
