[opensuse] Multiple accounts in KMail OR Integrating Thunderbird in Kontact

Hi List! I'm considering to move to KMail from Thunderbird, I played a bit with it, and after not-so-helpful googling decided to ask you. Can I add multiple accounts exactly in the way it works in Thunderbird (out of local folders folder, each one with separate inbox, sent, trash and unsent folders). I saw that I can make separate folders for accounts in the local folders folder and associate accounts with it, but that's not what I want(sent, ... etc) I really don't want all of them to go to one folder, and I also want to have Local Folders separately. AND/OR Can I integrate Thunderbird in Kontact? So instead of default KMail I will get Thunderbird embedded there? [opensuse] opensuse 10.3 on Asus G1S

This is a summary so far of what I have working and what I couldn't set up yet (in case it helps and in case somebody wants to help as well): Running opensuse 10.3 with gnome Partially Working: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT - Downloaded nvidia driver 100.14.19 from nvidia site and followed the instructions. Cannot use 3D desktop features though. Intel 4965AGN Wireless - Working with wpa-psk but only with ssid broadcast enabled in the router. Bluetooth - Seems fine but haven't beeen able to test it with any device yet. Keyboard - works fine but haven't been able to set up some special FN keys that doesn't seem to return any value (like the fn to sleep, disable wireless, contrast, volume, etc.). Notepad FN keys work fine though. Hi All, Can anyone shed some light on the purpose for these new items in my home directory? I'm running 10.2 + GNOME (under '~/.wapi':) shared_data-linux-Linux-i686-308-10-0 shared_fileshare-linux-Linux-i686-36-10-0 I've Googled without success. I'm asking because GAIM lost my 'buddy' aliases and also appeared to have forgotten my AIM password around the same time that the directory and files in question were created. [opensuse] Problem with Beta or Just Me?

I tried installing the beta (just downloaded this morning) on VMWare. It went through mostly okay, but then at the end, gave me a list of errors - unable to install xyz.rpm. For the most part, the RPM files were gnome, but several dozen were YaST rpm files. I then was unable to reboot the session after it told me. [opensuse] GA release of 10.3?

I just downloaded the lastest RC release and I'm installing it now. It came as a single "KDE" CD that causes lots of packages to be downloaded (3GB+ for me). So even if all the packages on the GA cd are good, this approach is going to cause massive package downloading during the install? Is that the way the GA cds/dvds are going to work? I hope not for everyone's sake. [opensuse] OpenOffice freezes the system

Hi all, since some days ago I have to create more documentation as part of my work but I'm experimenting something *very* annoying with OpenOffice, specially the first time it's launched although it might also happen (at random?) after the 2nd or 3rd run: the system completely freezes. Even the keyboard is 100% dead; the caps-lock or num-lock don't even work either, and the only way to get it back to life is by restarting it... so everything is lost and I must start over. These are the OpenOffice packages on my system now (the same applies for the one at home): --- martin@styx:~> rpm -qa | grep -i openoffice OpenOffice_org-2.2.1-43.1 OpenOffice_org-kde-2.2.1-43.1 OpenOffice_org-Quickstarter-1.0-514 --- This happens with all kind of document formats and for a nerd like me who (almost) uses the 20 desktops it's a good way to learn and use new bad words when everything disappears on this end... Anyway, I also noticed that the recent versions of OpenSuSE are rather more unstable (I'm a SuSE'r since version 5.3 IIRC)... this could be labeled just as a personal perception if I were using OpenSuSE in only one system but I have it installed in more than one "modern" system (i.e. dual-core CPU -both AMD and Intel- , xx GB of RAM, big SATA-2 hard disks, etc) at home and at work... Unfortunately I can't tell you a way to reproduce the problem so please bear with me... and therefore I wanted to ask here if someone has been experimenting such annoyances as well and what, if any, solutions can be applied to get rid of them. SuSE 10.3 (new release candidate), 2.6.22.5-29 kernel, SCSI initio driver I have a scanner connected to a Initio INI-950 SCSI card and I recently upgraded from SuSE 10.2 to 10.3. The new kernel doesn't see any of my devices. I get the following in /var/log/messages: Sep 30 09:05:13 r2d2 kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0a.0[A] -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 16 Sep 30 09:05:13 r2d2 kernel: initio: I/O port range 0x0 is busy. Sep 30 09:05:13 r2d2 kernel: ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:0a.0 disabled so there is some conflict of some kind. How would I go about reconciling this? When Linux fails to do these things, it is because of a malfunction, not design or legalities, and there are literally thousands of people out in the world working, largely for free, to fix those bugs. Where companies like Novell make their money is not by selling Linux, but by selling support and expertise. There is nothing wrong with that. They give Linux away (except for the cost of the media and paper) and earn their money by conducting seminars, sending support engineers out, helping design installations, answering technical questions to those that are willing to pay for that information. They don't have to pay people to verify 60 digit CD codes were legally obtained by you from a particular store for a particular machine with a CPU having certain disk drives in it. What a world Microsoft has created! It makes honest people *think* they are thieves!!!! Lynn, STOP feeling guilty about USING Linux and certainly stop feeling guilty about asking for help, whether or not you eventually make a profit from the information is irrelevant. Good day, OpenSUSE 10.2 Where do I tell the MTA to use port 587 when sending mail through my web hotel? My ISP has blocked port 25 for sending mail, but my web hotel accepts mail sending though port 587. I can't find anywhere in YaST's MTA module, sysconfig, or anywhere else to set the port number. Easy. I do it using the ncurses torrent client. First I start it telling to download the incumbent iso. I allow it to run for a minute or so, then I stop it. I notice where it has started to put the ISO, then I copy over it the broken but full ISO I got by any other method. Finally, I restart the ncurses client, which will inmediately verify what it has, and start re-downloading whatever pieces are bad. Hello, I have a problem concerning the bash_history: When I use the arrow-keys to flip through the different entries in the bash_history the last character of the command line cannot be deleted. This is a bit disturbing, since I did not change anything and this behaviour was not there before. Any help is welcome. i hv setup header and body_checks for my postfix to filter some content that i dont it. But it doesnt behave the way I want it to :P for example, I need to filter the word "sword" or "sw0rd", then i put this on my body_checks file : /sw?rd/ REJECT The problem is, it rejects all pattern to that word like "swirrrd", "swanythingrd". I found out when I tried to put a Win-XP VM on a 16 GB USB key just how slow those are compared with ordinary disk access. I mean, I already knew that, but it wasn't really obvious just *how* bad it was until I could see controls and buttons on an application getting drawn one at a time. I moved that VM to an ordinary external HD with a USB 2.0 connection, and it was quite usable. Not as convenient to move from one computer to another, granted, but it made the difference between works and doesn't work. Hi all: I am trying to boot theOpensuse 10.3 KDE Live CD on my Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop, but I am running into a problem. CDrom not found is the error message after booting. It then reboots. Hi, Okay, after playing around a little bit for a while i still gotta come and ask here. I got my printer setup on my suse 10.1 server system and i can print just fine with my Suse 10.2 client but not with the Windows client(s). In Windows i can browse for the printer and it shows it up nicely. Double click tells me that it'll download the driver to the system but then it still can't find it and i will need to install it manually. Anyways, once done this, i can nicely add it to my windows printer(s) but when i try to print something it tells me "Access denied, unable to connect". I'm not reallly sure what's wrong since i can print from my suse 10.2 client just fine. Can anyone help me? This would be appreciated! hey all, its been awhile since i've had to compile a kernel, but i had to for some things and i've installed it with no real issue, the thing is that I used the old initrd file for my boot loader. Therefore it didn't seem to load the new modules. Makes sense i guess. Anyway, i'm on a ppc and i have not found an easy way to create an initrd image.
