I can see my wireless connection, however, it won't store my ESSID or my WEP Passphrase, and won't connect. I tried it with DHCP with and without access list restrict setup. I have set my LAN nic to start up manual, not disabled. What is missing?

Suse is Green. Ubuntu is Orange. Suse used to ship cool lizard stickers in the box. Going further - SUSE is a very old *nix based IIRC on Slackware and "forked" way back in the early '90s. It contains a mix of proprietary and open source software. Some of the software management tools - YaST, for example - were proprietary but are now Open Source. SUSE was based on KDE and is shifting ever slowly towards a Gnome-centric (with KDE option) view. SUSE has also many enterprise-specific features which make it widely used by large organizations in servers and multiple workstation environments. Ubuntu is a relatively new startup based on Debian and still "linked" to Debian, while extending it. It is based on Gnome, though there is a KUbuntu package available, which provides KDE. It is also completely open source. Ubuntu is currently targeted as a single-desktop model with several developers working on an enterprise version to possibly enter the server room or corporate desktop. Neither distribution ships with a cool lizard sticker. I've only used the live DVD of Ubuntu and felt no need to migrate from SUSE. Noticed that I did not say upgrade or downgrade, as Ubuntu is a distribution which many feel is on par with SUSE and does contain many of the same software versions - OOo, FF, Natulus - just to name a few. Minimizing All / Maximizing Select KDE Windows

I've googled this for the past half hour and cannot find a solution. (If, indeed, it is a problem.) I use the "show desktop" icon on KDE to minimize all windows. This is also used often to get me access to the desktop icons I have. However, when I restore one application, all applications get restored. I only one the one I select to be restored. I've looked through the Control Center (Personal seetings) and see nothing. I also googled and cannot find a setting for this. [opensuse] cd mounting trouble with ivman

Hi, running 10.1 with ctwm, so I installed ivman-0.6.9-16.3 (updated package) according to http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Automount_CD/DVD_with_ivman Running ivman as root works and I can access CDs as root. Running as user, I get this error when I insert a CD: manager.c:768 (ivm_run_command) Running: halmount '/dev/hdc' /dev/hdc: A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member "Mount" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.Hal") Can someone give me a hint what to do? I took a look at the dbus config file, but I'm far from understanding it. And I also wouldn't like to patch some dbus file or sth. just to mount a CD. I did some debugging with smbclient...... smbclient -d 5 -L MYCLIENT the only difference I can see is locatet in the first Session repuest is anybody out there familiar with these protocols?
