How to file a bug report?

I'm relatively new to SuSE and I'd just like to know how to go about filing an official bug report on a package? The package in question is the hplip package. SUSE 10.0: YOU not finding new updates

There has been a number of security update announcements this past week and most of them are "released", but running YOU on multiple SUSE 10.0 machines here shows no new updates, and these systems are definitely not up-to-date with the latest patches. I know I could manually fetch the updates, but I'd rather have YOU manage them for me. Anyone else notice this problem? -Ti

mysql change user password

I never had to change the password for user. How do I do that? I only know how to set-up a new password for a new user (with GRANT). I am not sure if I can just repeat that and the original record will be updated or a new record would be added, .... that would mean two passwords for one database, ... ???? bye Ronald

Democracy Player

I saw an article over at Mad Penguin about Democracy Player IPTV client and Linux so I thought I would check it out. Unfortunately they did not have an packages for Suse, so off to compile the source. Further pain, no nice ./configure,make,make install (or checkinstall my preferred way to bundle it into an rpm) option either. But I finally got it built, with what looks like no errors. Unfortunately, upon running I am getting an error that it cannot find module gtkmozemebed. Which I am pretty sure I have installed as I believe its in the gecko-sdk package. Not sure if I am missing something on my LD_LIBRARY_PATH or something else. Anyone have any luck with getting this application to run on 10.1? Thanks in advance. Michael

Pop up message while running Zen updater: Resolvable id 34819 does not exist. So I dig in the log, where I am treated to this much better message: 23 Sep 2006 12:42:50 INFO RedCarpetBackend Resolvable id 34819 does not exist. Oh, Joy. Hint to programmer: If you can't tell me what 34819 is... [shout mode] AT LEAST TELL ME WHICH PACKAGE REQUIRES IT! Problems with kxdocker

Hi, I am attempting to install kxdocker in SuSE10.1 under KDE.. I first installed it through SMART and ran it through the terminal. There is only one icon in the docker. I installed SLED 10 that came with Linux Format, DVD issue 85 and it looks good. What is the difference between SLED 10 and Suse 10.0 and 10.1. I would like to install apt4rpm on SLED 10, is that possible and any help to do it would be appreciated. jozien

SuSE vintages

I've been using SuSE Linux since its early days (at least pre-5 but I think much earlier than that). However, I don't always update to the latest version. Some versions seem better than others, like wine vintages. Even Chateau Rothschild had a few terrible years. From what I read here it seems that 10.1 was not, on the whole, an improvement over 10.0, mainly because of the updating problems. So I'm wondering: has anyone noticed a pattern of merit among the x.0, x.1, x.2, and x.3 versions? Or is it just random? Paul
