Disabling IRQ 11 Error

Hi List, I'm having a very frustrating problem in that after a while, usually when I'm not using the PC I get Linux kernel disabling IRQ 11 and then my wireless card stops working and I have to reboot to get it working again. I have spent most of this evening looking at google etc so see if I can find a solution to this problem, but have been unable to. I have noticed that there is several things using IRQ 11, wlan0, snd and ndiswrapper, Don't know if this is a problem or not. Here is what I have : SuSE 9.2 Pro KDE 3.3.0 Kernel 2.6.8-24.14-Default Linksys WPM54g v4 using ndiswrapper As I said everything works perfect for a while and then I get this error. Any help would be much appreciated. Martin

Can't write to temporary download target directory

Hi, is there anybody who can tell me where in konquorer I can change the default temporary download directory? When I f.e. go onto "http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/3608958177/028-8254727-6130121" and click onto the link called "Größeres Bild" which referes to "http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/3608958177.03.LZZZZZZZ.jpg" I get the following error: Access denied Could not write to /backup/SuSE-9.3/3608958177.03.LZZZZZZZ.jpg I really don't know how this became the default directory for downloading temporary files, but where can I change it again? Grub problem on install reboot

A colleague who is trying to install suse 9 on his system has hit a curious problem. On the first reboot at the end of the main part of the install, instead of carrying on and finishing those configuration parts of the install that need the main system running, upon reboot the system hangs with a "grub>" prompt. I have looked at his / partition and can see nothing obviously wrong, it has a proper "/boot/grub/menu.1st" file etc, but it occurs to me that on this first boot things happen differently to normal in that (ISTR) it drops straight into configuring the system (network, printers, users, etc) so it would appear that grub is not getting the correct script to boot into this mode, nor is it using the menu.1st. bittorrent question

After download RPM from www.bittorrent.com and installed via yast i try to launch the client GUI via /usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py Err msg: File "\usr\bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 30, in ? import gtk import error: No module named gtk I checked in yast2 and find gtk already installed. But I can't find it via whereis command. Anyone use BT in linux? pls give me a hand. Many thanks!

KHTML

Hi, Can anybody tell me where KHTML is meant to be on 9.1 ? When I am browsing with Konqueror and click on an html file I get a message saying that Konqueror cannot start KHTML. A search of my hard drive just gives me a couple of folders of the same name. Anybody else have anythoing different? Regards, Colin

Hi, K3B 0.11.23. I also tried the ver that came with 9.1 and also no luck. When i set the speed to ignore it wrote the dvd but the dvd did not work. I found the only machines it performs well on are those with lots of RAM, typically with 512 Mb or more. I think it's because the client is a java application so it takes a while to get going. Qcad howto ?

Hi Anyone here using qcad ? As one who'd never done any serious cad work, I'm looking for a howto - or best practice description - for getting started drawing a building with qcad. E.g. will I begin with the whole ground as the first layer, draw the outer walls of the building as the next, or is there a better approach? I hope that someone can point me to some introduction material for this kind of qcad use. Thanks in advance

I don't know, but one of the auxiliary lists we had to create while shunning the official SuSE list in haste is using mailman precisely. I find it has nice features. On the other hand, the method used by "ezmlm" of confirmation emails can be broken as well, I think. Consider this scenario: - "A" posts an email posing as "B" to the list. "A" can be a virus. - The list (C) send a confirmation email to "B". - It happens that "B" is the help desk entry point of some business, and it has an autoresponder, which duly autoresponds to the list server (C) saying that their query will be answered as promptly as possible. - The list server (C) thinks that "B" has confirmed his subscription, and starts sending list email to "him". - Finally, we listers start getting "bounces" from "B" every time we email the list, saying that "our" query will be answered promptly. I believe this has already happened here, because I have received such bounces. But I can not confirm it. On the other hand... the initial login page to google groups, for instance, requires the user copying a text shown in a distorted image.
