libXenoStep.so

Any gtk app I start from a console moans: Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate loadable module in module_path: "libXenoStep.so" everything seems to work fine though, no propblems. I checked, and sure enough, the file isn't on my hard drive, and searching for it in Yast2-software-install didn't show anything either. So just out of curiosity, what is libXenoStep.so and what package should it be part of? Thanks Hans

evolution with opera

Fan and CPU temp.

Evening, Well, tonight my CPU fan decided to stop working. After some logical deduction, I discovered that it was the connection from the fan to the motherboard that was faulty. By hooking up the CPU fan to another connection on the motherboard I was able to use it again. When I boot, the BIOS complains that the CPU fan is not running (obviously since it is not hooked up) and asks if I should shutdown immediately. I said no, since the fan really was spinning round, and booted up linux. I've loaded sensors and have the CPU temp displayed on gkrellm. It says that it's 105.8F right now. My question is how reliable is this setup I've got going, or should I just give in and buy a new motherboard. I'm kinda tight on funds, so if this'll work, I'd rather keep it like this. I'm just concerned about blowing out my CPU. Any thoughts? Mike Sacco.

Network Printing in CUPS or LPD using HPLJ4P. Doesn't work in applications.

Has anyone managed to get printing working in LPD using HPLJ4P and working in applications like openoffice or mozilla. I couldn't get it to work in CUPS as network printer, but have managed to get it to work in the test setup as LPD, as a network printer but it won't work in applications. I am using SuSE8.2. Even the lines that the telephone company is using seems to be unshielded. At least from the pole in front of my house to the house. And for the case of knowing whether I still am connected to the telephone line I like to have a led light in between. How and where to put it? And because I am living in a region with more then 400 lightning strikes a year I have a lightning protection included. smbmnt error

Dear All, For the most part I have networking working using samba connecting my Suse 8 and Win98, however when I try to open files that show in LinNeighborhood on my Suse8 desktop or on my Suse8 laptop I get an error message that says "smbmnt must be installed suid root for direct user mounts (500,500) smbmnt failed: 1". Is this a simple permission problem? Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thank you, Marcia

IMAP folder "fifo"

Hi there Client: SuSE 8.2 + Mutt Server: SuSE 8.2 + Postfix/Procmail/SA/Cyrus Basically the questions are; What does one use to manipulate files in a maildir? How does Cyrus react if I start moving files around below /var/spool/imap/user/jon/ ? The motivation is that, since I generally keep all mail generated on this list, I end up having to manually move a large number of mails from the INBOX.SLE folder to an INBOX.SLE.mm-yy folder once a month. So now I'd like to automate that. But then it occurred to me that it would be even nicer, if this can be done sort of 'on-the-fly'. Because; Mutt doesn't cache the headers (or so I think) which means that, late in the month, it has to get a couple of thousand headers which takes a rather long time, before the folder opens. What I'd like is something that works something like this; INBOX.SLE is the destination for incoming mail. When new mail arrives, a similar number of 'oldest' mails get 'rotated' out of that folder into an INBOX.SLE.mm-yy folder. Basically a 'fifo' situation. One complication to this scheme, is that I much prefer to keep threading intact. Which of course means that some decision-making is neccessary when a thread spans across 'months'. O.K. Enough. Thoughts? Ideas? Pointers? Can I get Cyrus to do something like what I'm after? Procmail? Formail? *? TIA Jon Clausen -- If we can't be free, at least we can be cheap!

Printing in application
