Network Printing in CUPS or LPD using HPLJ4P. Doesn't work in applications.
Has anyone managed to get printing working in LPD using HPLJ4P and working in applications like openoffice or mozilla. I couldn't get it to work in CUPS as network printer, but have managed to get it to work in the test setup as LPD, as a network printer but it won't work in applications. I am using SuSE8.2. I've been able to set up network printing in two different situations (you didn't define what your situation is) 1) To a directly connected network printed (tcp/ip addressed) 2) To a local printer on a different machine (also 8.2) How are you trying to print?
Any help appreciated.
