Darn Perl Modules

Kind of at a loss on where to look. RH72 systems trying to install the perl module Net::SSH::Perl with little success. Don't really know where to turn for help after scouring cpan site. Anyone have any suggestions one a place to turn for information. What is happening is while trying to install the module using perl -MCPAN shell and then install Net::SSH::Perl a very very long process begins. I've isolated a slow part of the process to when the dependency (of course after it's sub dependencies are installed) of Math::Pari is made and then during testing it gets to a point where it seems to stop, but having left it overnight... some 12 hours it got a little further. I went through the process of trying to manually install each of the dependant modules (there is like 25 of them) and everything goes along pretty good until I get to the 7th one (Math::Pari) which makes fine, but the test of it gets to a certain point and slows, so I just skipped the test and installed it. Again every module just loads up fine until module 20 (Crypt::Primes) which builds fine but then fails each and every test. Seeing it is a dependency of Crypt::RSA the testing of it fails. Hope that is descriptive enough. Anyone know more about this than me please chime on in. Wish I had an rpm that had with all perl modules in it...

Lexmark Z53 - printing cuts off top part of page

I've running Suse 7.3 (kernel 2.4.10) with the Lexmark Z53 drivers right off the Lexmark website, using standard lpr printing. The problem I'm running into is that when I print from KMail or the Konqueror browser, it cuts off the top part of the image when it prints it. I have no problems printing in any other applications, just these KDE apps. I did a print preview and gs opened up, displaying a perfectly normally printout--however, when I selected the "letter" paper size from the menu, I saw the top part of the printout was cut off, just like my printout was exhibiting! It's almost as if it starts printing before the page is fed underneath the print cartridge. I can't find any printing options within either program or "gs" to adjust this. I've verified with the "lexmarkz53" utility that the correct papersize is selected. I'm reasonably new to Linux, but I'm learning very quickly. This doesn't appear to me to be a printer driver issue, but has anyone else experienced this and perhaps shed some light? Let me know if any further information is needed to help troubleshoot. TIA. Still not working CUPS after upgrade

I have try your steps, but cups stop responding after I have been selecting the printer (HP LaserJet 1100). My steps are Administration - Add printer - I selected my model, and the my CUPs stop, and no configuration files are saved . Maybe I need to to chec some permision ?

Hello, I am very new to Linux. We are running SuSe 7.0. I need to modify the SHMAX and SEMOP parameters for an oracle install. Unfortunately, I am stumped as to how to re-compile the kernel with seemingly no source code on the system. The only thing under /usr/src/linux is include files. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The error message that Dennis got... did it mean that Mozilla 0.9.5 was the **only** dependency? Or just that the checking had stopped at the first broken dependency that it discovered? If the latter, then is there a way to make RPM ignore just one dependency at a time, so that you can go "Hmmm" over each one, and decide if you wish to chance forcing installation after each new dependency is discovered? Amacom Baby DVD, cardbus version under Linux?

Hi all, Has anyone managed to get the Amacom Baby DVD drive to work under linux, the PC cardbus version? I have SuSE 7.3 installed on the laptop and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it to recognise the cardbus adaptor, which Amacom claims is a standard cardbus IDE interface. They say that it _should_ work under linux, but admit that they have never tried it. I've tried manually probing the slot and a device is recognised as being present but no ID is reported at all. I'm afraid PCMCIA is a new area to me, so I'm really not sure what to try next. Anyone else using this external drive? David.
