Sound driver for Intel 845G (AD 1981A)

Hi, Happy new year greetings to all! I have loaded SuSE Linux 8.0 on my desktop with Intel D845GBV motherboard having Intel 845G chipset (both onboard audio and video). However, i was not able to get the Sound drivers for this chipset (Intel 845G) audio. The sound device is Analog Device 1981A (SoundMAX cadenza). Can anyone let me know from where i can get the audio drivers for this? Thanks in advance, Raghav

Hi! I would like to re-install from scratch 8.0 then update to 8.1 on my SONY Vaio POCG-FX505 laptop. There are 4 partitions on it: One NTFS for Windows XP Pro (C:) One Linux Swap One Linux Ext2 One NTFS for Windows XP Pro (D:) All is working fine, but there are small irritating quirks (flickering display, weird Taskbar when logged as 'root') on the 8.1 installation I want to get rid of. As there is no data but a plain vanilla 8.1 system, I'd rather re-install (M$ style ...) my Linux system than spending too much time messing around. And As I have only the 'update' version 8.1 CDs, I imagine I should first re-install a full 8.0 version then update to 8.1 ==> Question 1 : How can I safely 'format' les Linux partitions to start afresh? I intend to connect to my laptop: HP DeskJet 940c printer M500 Palm Pilot CanoScan Lide20 Scanner ==> Question 2 : Any anticipated installation problems for these devices? TIA LaoToma

Strange LILO problem

Auto Power Down

Hi, On my dual PIII/500 machine the macine will not auto power off. I used to get this on my P4 but found it was because the multi-processor kernel had been installed and the solution was to uninstall that and install a single processor kernel. respawning too fast

I get the following message when I try to boot SuSE 7.0 and the computer locks up. I can use the rescue disk to mount the drive and correct the problem. Please help. I searched Google and couldn't get a decent answer. I didn't understand the SuSE data base answer to this problem. Hi, I have a problem that has plagued me for some time: Whenever I bring up mozilla (1.0.1 currently), the "Back" button is always ghosted...I can never go "Back" to previous pages. On my SPARC or my laptop, I never have that problem. Drive problem.

Hi. On my SuSE 8.1 I have problems with my DVD drive. If I take ls options all seems to be ok. The DVD is not visible in the /var/log/boot.msg file under the scsi emulation. Only visible is my CD-RW drive. I installed 8.1 on another harddisk, and here all was working ok. The ls's was very equal to my not working install. Here both my DVD and my CD-RW drives are visible in the boot.msg file. Here I have the ls listings. USB Floppy problem during Install

Hello All, I have a sony vaio n505vx with a 3com cardbus 575 ethernet adapter. I currently do not have a working CDROM and I'm trying to install off of the FTP site. I run into a problem once I get to the blue menu screen and it asks for a modules disk. The menu screen does not see my USB Floppy and it will always say "Error reading from floppy disk!". I've tried this on suse 7.3 and suse 8.1 I found some guy that patched his boot 7.2 disk to work with 3com 59x, but unfortunately, thats not a 575 :/ Anyway, is there a SuSE network boot disk? I found a mandrake one and attempted it and it worked sweetly, but ive been using suse for years now and I don't want to switch over this problem. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.
