Where is modutils 2.4 on SuSE FTP?

I see advice to only use modutils from SuSE FTP. I am using kernel 2.4.2, planning upgrade to 2.4.4 because of VIA quirk on MotherBoard. I seem to find only modutils 2.4.2-7. Is this the latest for 7.0? Linux compatible scanners

Hello SuSE, My old scanner is dying and slow. I am in the market for a new one and would like to stay under $300 or so dollars. Hi, I seem to have problem with having access to UserDir, eventhough it is set up in httpd.conf. Are there some changes in how should it be configured? cheers peter

I am trying to add a signature in my Kmail and it is not working. I tried adding it as the html file that I used in M$ outlook express and it didn't work, then I make it txt and it didnt work, finally I just typed the text in the box and still not showing it. XCDROAST problems

I am using Suse 7.0 Professional. I installed xcdroast by following the directions stated in Suse's Configuration Manual, Chapter 7, Writing CD's in Linux.. Everything is very close to working-- Xcdroast recognizes my cd-rw drive and hard drive and other setup options were accepted. Here's the problem: When I choose "Copy Audio CD", xcdroast closes up and disappears from my desktop and does not commence copying data from the cd drive. Also, every time I start up xcdroast to try again, I get a message stating, "The SCSI-Bus has changed since last "save" in the Setup-Menu. Please check if all settings are still valid! Please enter Setup....." Lastly, I can no longer mount my cdrom drive to read cdroms. I receive the following error message when I try to mount cdrom--- "/dev/cdrom: Input/output error mount: you must specify the filesystem type. I've gone over the directions in Chapter 7 about five times. I know I followed them precisely. It said nothing about recompiling my kernel, or anything like that. Why is this failure occurring? Hi Jon, Sorry for the late reply cause i did not come to the office yesterday and we had a holiday. Anyhow, do i need to configure the boot device priority to what Removable Devices or Just boot from HARD DRIVE ? recently i configure it to boot from a hard drive because i confuged the HARD DRIVE option regrading the priority set to Array 1000 Family RAID Adapter. Do i need to re-install the linux box or any other way? If the Linux autodetects the RAID devices meaning the mirroring will be applied ? Ok, lets try this: First, what version of Apache are you running? Generally, the stuff that you put into access.conf is recommended to go into httpd.conf these days. Also, you probably do not need the <Limit GET> and </Limit> in the .htaccess file. Also, after you make any changes to the httpd.conf or a .htaccess file (maybe even the AuthUserFile, too!) you need to make sure that you restart the Apahe webserver. IF you are using the SuSE RPM-installed Apache, you should be able to do "rcapache restart" (or is it rchttpd restart?) or even /etc/rc.d/apache restart ***AS ROOT*** to get the configurations re-read. Also, did you actually CREATE the /usr/local/apache/conf/passwd file by using htpasswd ? For the first user in the file, you'd want to do : htpasswd -c /usr/local/apache/conf/passwd <username> The -c tells htpasswd to CREATE the file and add <username> as the first entry. It will prompt for the password to use. For the second and subsequent users to be entered, use htpasswd /usr/local/apache/conf/passwd <username> and make SURE to not use the -c again.
