553 Could not determine pwdir: No such file or directory.

Dear all, after creating a chrooted environment for a non-anonymous user with WU-ftpd 2.6.1, I get the following error message when trying to upload files: --- 200 PORT command successful. 553 Could not determine pwdir: No such file or directory. --- Dowloads work fine though. Any clues? Maybe I'm overseeing something obvious... Thanks in advance! Martin

Sendmail update - permissions change?

Hi. I've just tried to update my version of sendmail (as shipped with 6.4), to the updated 7.0 version on the FTP server, and I've noticed that the permissions on the sendmail binary have changed - the suid bit has been removed. help required running a script (pretty please)

Most likely dumb but: have written a simple script (script1) I want to run i've used chmod +x script1 ro make it executable when I attempt to run it i get the error: "sh: ./script1: No such file or directory I'm logged in as root, I can see and edit it, Why can't i run it????????? as i said most likeley dumb but..... thanks in advance scsijon

7.1 - Printing stopped working

My printing was working fine under 7.1 until last week. Now I can't print from programs or the command line (lpr). I have been routinely updating patches through YAST 2. I get mail messages with the following text: apsfilter: unable to print job reply_offer.txt Any help would be appreciated. Does the PC need to go through a router to get Internet access? If yes, is this router 192.168.0.1? If not, why set the default gateway to 192.168.0.1? 2. Is eth0 or eth1 the nic that makes the connection to the router (thus Internet)? 3. If eth1 is the connection to the router/internet, did you perhaps also set a default gateway for eth0? 4. Did you try to change the default gateway with Yast, or did you just do a route add etc.? About the "funny" colours: I must say that a videocard with only 1Mb mem sounds oldish (are you sure this card is still OK?). You could try to run sax2 again. This helped me with my S3 card. I've noticed that SaX doesn't always choose the correct videocard/chip during initial setup, but does a wonderful job the second time around in autoconfig mode. Tried everything - Printer still not working

This is getting very frustrating. I've tried re-installing everything. I've deleted and created the printer in Yast 20 times. "ps aux | grep lp" doesn't return anything "rclpd status" returns OK The 7.1 printer problems section in the SuSE database is a bad link. I need to get my printer working. Lost...... A helicopter was flying around above Seattle when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications equipment. Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's position and course to steer to the airport. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten sign, and held it in the helicopter's window. The pilot's sign said, "Where am I?" in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign, and held it in a building window. Their sign said, "You are in a helicopter." The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map, determined the course to steer to SEATAC airport, and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the co-pilot asked the pilot how the "You are in a helicopter" sign helped determine their position. The pilot responded, "I knew that had to be the Microsoft building because they gave me a technically correct but completely useless answer."
