hi Another thing is to change down 2 levels in the directory, after (re)compilation/ there are 2 lower levels of directors built, you should use the vmlinux from there. If you ls -l in /usr/scr/linux you'll find the ones i mean. [S.u.S.E. Linux] g77 and egcs

Hi all, I have suse 5.2 which comes with g77 version 0.5.19 and gcc 2.7.2.1. The simulation package I need to link my fortran code require 0.5.21 which is part of newer version of gcc. But when I try to upgrade my gcc to 2.7.2.3, I see that there are many dependencies. I am wondering if anyone here running suse 5.2 has successfully upgraded their g77/gcc to either 2.7.2.3 or to egcs. Which one is recommanded? Which one has more f90 extensions? Hi, has anybody got an easy to follow doc that goes through the setup for a news feed. I am using SuSE 5.2 and connect to Demon Internet. I have an old setup doc for Slackware but there seems to be quite a difference in file locations. Since my install of SuSE 5.1 - when I go to send a file to lpr - the printer just gives a reset - no other signs of life. There is only one printer on the system, it's on the paralell port and it works fine when I restart into DOS or Windows. The books and HOW TOs that I found say to edit the dot file .profile by the command export PRINTER=xx My problem is where to find a list that gives me the xx for a given printer model. All I could find was postscript=ps Failing a list, any of you know what to call a 24 pin Panasonic? Or is there an easier way to reconfigure this? Greetings! Can someone please tell me what is the difference between Motif 2.1 and Motif 2.0.1? Can we run the Metrolink Motif 2.1 on S.u.S.E. 5.2? Do we have glibc 2.0.5? I am also a bit confused as to which version is available through S.u.S.E. On the web site, it shows only Motif 2.0.1 but on the Spring catalog, it shows Motif 2.1. Thank you very much. Regards, C. It depends. Some ISP's will, and some won't. What you can do is leave your computer on. In Europe that is generally not a good idea. Also, you can try keeping track of the IP-adresses you ISP assign to you. If you get the same IP-adress every time, you could try using this adress for httpd/ftpd.
