Dear openSUSE,
We're proud to announce the official kickoff of the openSUSE Travel
Support Program. This program will provide openSUSE contributors with
some financial support for traveling to conferences and events where
they represent openSUSE.
It's a quarterly budget which can support a good number of people.
The funds are limited so we'll make the best to support as many people
as possible. It's reimbursement mode. We'll reimburse after approved
only hotel or travel or both up to 80% and
up to the amount approved.
All about the program can be find here:
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Travel_Support_Program
We look forward to doing this! If you have any questions, you can
bring it up at the next openSUSE Project meeting (Feb Wednesday 22) or
email us directly.
Best Regards,
Izabel Valverde

Heya all,
I'm looking for a fun slogan or picture - something that makes people laugh.
Like a t-shirt saying "ROCK IS DEAD (and paper killed it)" or one of the
better xkcd comics ;-)
Something for a sticker, poster or a t-shirt...
Any ideas?
/jos
Hi,
I have a T Shirt design, mainly aimed at openSUSE contributors. Please
have a look at it, and review it.

Hey all fosdem-goers!
I dunno about you, but I had a lot of fun at FOSDEM... But before catching
up to sleep I think we should let the world know what happened!
I did a little write-up and now need some review, additions and pictures
from ya'll. Anyone who has good pictures for news.o.o please mail me. IF you
point me to an online picture, make sure I can use it (license-wise) please!
Article draft:

(*yes* yes another etherpad lite thing. Hope this one is more stable but I
bet it's not)
Thanks,
Jos
Heya all,
I've updated the wiki page about LinuxTag:
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:LinuxTag
I have been volunteered to organize it. I can't promise to do as great a job
as Henne did last year but I'll try ;-)
I'm going to ask for a booth. I think it's best to use the same hotel as
least year - Motel One Berlin Tiergarten was fine... You can have a room for
about 59 single and 79 double. And you'll have to book yourself... If you
guys/girls think it's worth trying I could give them a call, see if we can
get a bit of a discount?!? Henne, did you manage that last year?
Anything else we'll need? The CfP is closed by now, we'll have to make sure
we make a nice splash at the booth this year :D
If anyone has any fun ideas, I'd love to hear it. I'll see if we can sell
beer and t-shirts :D
/Jos

I have created a short video that show installation of openSUSE 12.1.
The video (in Italian language) was made to show how is simple to do
the setup of openSUSE on a PC that have already another SO installed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs5RPHZAtdU
I know that is not too much, but I'd like to have feedbacks to improve
this type of work.
Thank
Alexjan.

Excellent points raised Izabel. Maybe I was not clear enough. I love
accessibility being promoted and "WE" should do it, in fact I would
love openSUSE working with accessibility and we definitely should
collaborate. What I am trying to raise here is we are missing here a
few questions that we should ask like
1. Do they plan/want to collaborate with us and if so how?
2. If current openSUSE users want to provide their feedback on
accessibility, then how should we do it?
3. If current openSUSE devs or new contributors would like to work on
accessibility options who are the best persons in the openSUSE
community as well as outside the openSUSE community to contact?
What I am trying to raise here since we want collaboration, let us
mention openSUSE along with gnome.. Otherwise it sounds kinda out of
the place. Collaboration is done on a lot of levels and as marketing
we should make sure it is evident to the public :)
I suggest contacting the interviewee again if he can answer such questions.

Hi
Me and Izabel interviewed the Gnome accesibility guys in order to make
their work more know to public, can you give it a look and tell us if
it's ok to release it today or in Friday?
The links: http://news.opensuse.org/?p=12562&preview=truehttp://news.opensuse.org/?p=12562
one of those should work
Have fun
