Heya all, The linuxtag wiki page is up: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:LinuxTag_2012 If you want to go, please register yourself there. I think its cool if all geekos are in one location, I've put Motel One there as a common hotel. It ain't too expensive and the location is fine. But for those short on cash - I can host 2-4 people (provided you're not afraid to have to share a 2-person bed with a fellow geeko...). If you give a talk - add it too! If you wonder about travel sponsorship, as you can read on the Travel Support Program page: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Travel_Support_Program LinuxTag is unlikely to have people sponsored to be there as there will be quite a Geeko Crew anyway so it is low priority. That does not mean you can't apply - if you really wouldn't be able to make it without some financial support and can make a very valuable contribution to LinuxTag it is certainly worth asking. We do need people to man the booth - that'll get you a ticket for LinuxTag too. Be there! /Jos

[opensuse-marketing] Estimating cost of openSUSE Project

Over the years, I've seen numbers thrown out for a number of distros, but none for openSUSE. This article [1] shows what it would cost to develop Debian, which is $19.1 Billion. It would be interesting to see some kind of numbers for openSUSE (not just the distro but the overall Project, including OBS, etc.) Especially as we try to attract development to the Project. No, the result numbers would not be accurate, and would be actually lower than what it really would have cost, but still it would make for a compelling number that we can use in presentations and other marketing materials. Anyone interested in taking a stab and installing SLOCCount [2] to come up with some numbers we might be able to use in the future? Hi all, I remember AJ mentioning that we often use cotweet for sharing responsibility with a single twitter a/c. Since they have discontinued their free service, how do we propose to, lets say, share a certain a/c, besides, of course, the outright sharing of the passwords among admins? Although few accounts mentioned in [1] have multiple contacts listed, a large number indicate cotweet is used to coordinate posts. Also, I do not really understand the purpose of the entry [2] . I considered removing it, but maybe someone has a point in keeping it.
