Hi, @all of the Weekly Newsletter Team members ! Although there is no announcement yet, the status of issue #50 seems to be "ready for translation". http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/Translations/Ready#Issue_50 http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/50 But I noticed several things. - Numbers for the "Statistics" are not filled in yet. - The lower 2 lines of "SUSE Security Summary Report: SUSE-SR:2008:027" # Content of this advisory: # 1) Solved Security Vulnerabilities: are necessary ? http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/50#SUSE_Security_Summary_Report… Can we start translating or we had better wait for completion ? [opensuse-marketing] Launch Party DVDs

Hi all, For everyone planning a launch party - I am having a small batch of openSUSE DVDs duplicated (as opposed to replicated) for the launch. So, if you're having a launch party and have an expected # of attendees, please send me an email with the following: # of attendees / DVDs needed Contact name Address to send to Phone # for shipping contact URL to your blog post announcing your launch party This is first-come, first-served. If you've contacted me previously, please send another email anyway to confirm. Note that this is NOT for personal use DVDs or anything. The launch party needs to be on the wiki as well. If you get pre-launch DVDs, I do expect some follow-up posts & pictures! :-) We're working to get a small batch made up for the 18th, but that date may slide -- so if you're planning a party, it's more than OK to schedule it on the 19th or slightly later. Let me know if you have any questions. [opensuse-marketing] Facebook App, anyone?

If anyone here knows how to design a Facebook app, I have an idea. There's a Facebook openSUSE group that actually has over 1,300 members in the group. Some of us on Facebook may have noticed a rather cool app just before the U.S. Elections where the app would change your status to remind people to vote for (insert your candidate here.) Wouldn't it be great if we could create a similar app that changes your status to "openSUSE 11.1 is released! Download it now!"? If we could get all 1300 of those group members to use that app, that's some serious viral marketing.
