[opensuse-factory] Ispell spell checker deprecation

Heya guys, I've noticed that we still provide ispell which is in its heruistic more often wrong than right. Packages/project usually migrated to aspell/hunspell (myspell) and thus the ispell support is mostly optional and not desired in our lovely distribution. I would try to remove all ispell related cruft from factory as we can really live with only the above checkers and be happy. Gentoo killed it bit back, and Fedora too, so I don't think there should be any reason for it. What would be your take on this? Would this impact some of your projects or is it okay for you? [opensuse-factory] Security trust relationship

Two days after I installed snapshot 20141011 I suddenly get frequently (every few minutes) the message 'A security trust relationship is not present Signature verification for Repository google-earth failed' I had google-earth downloaded and the download map added to the repositories list before I installed google-earth. [opensuse-factory] Upgrade from 13.2 beta1 to rc1: avahi-autoipd-0.6.31-23.1.2.x86_64.rpm not found

Hello! I have had a 13.1 machine which I have upgraded to 13.2 beta1; yesterday I tried to upgrade with "zypper dup" to the rc1 version. [opensuse-factory] Desktop Icons

After installing snapshot 10241011 the 'Desktop Icons' appeared in the panel instead of on the desktop, so I can't use it. Any suggestion how to place it in the right place? broken in http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/ at least for 13.1, but the standard 13.2 repo's driver has the same problem. Do people not already know this and just not mention it on any of the mailing lists? Is this (re: 13.1) something one files a bug against, not being in a "release" product? I filed one today upstream, which claims "it" was fixed over a month ago in git3.0.0: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85016 Short breakage story: If I want EDID or xorg.conf* to perform as expected, I need git3.0.0, or something older, on chips 845G, 865G, 915G, 945G and 4000. Otherwise all I get is 1024x768. Workaround one is configuration via startup script using xrandr commands. Workaround 2 is both adding Option "AccelMethod" "UXA", and explicitly specifying intel driver, in the config. [opensuse-factory] Can you explain some of the changes in 13.2 for an article?

I noticed the YaST installer is far faster. One explanation I got was that it was making less mkinitrd calls. Could you elaborate? I know that SLED is using XFS for it's home and that is part of why we are using it. Why this choice? Why not EXT4 as in the past or btrfs like root? I've heard reasons why it's better but could someone elaborate on the underlying mechanisms leading to the superiority of XFS for the home partition? On my previous Tumbleweed installation, it had GNOME 3.12 like the beta. However on the beta it is much much more responsive in regards to searches as well as the animations being many factors smoother. Can you give some reasons? Security: when desktop logs in, the keyring needs authentication complaining it wasn't unlocked on log in. Is this deliberate? In order to add a new WiFi connection, administrative authentication is needed, is this intentional as it had been in the past (when Linus Torvalds cussed us out)? YaST2/AppArmor module hasn't been fixed for the new rule types. Will this be fixed for release or shortly after? https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=900013 Thank you for your time. [opensuse-factory] remind calander pgm doesn't display since 20141002 snapshot

After updating to 20141002, my preferred calandar app, remind/tkremind, no longer displays the "Month" window on the KDE desktop. It does display the "Today's Reminders" window. I also noticed on the first desktop restart after updating to 20141002 on 5 Sept that several other apps would not display and had to be killed and restarted, several konsole instances, korganizer and firefox. My system is set to redisplay apps that were previously open on desktop restart. All apps that failed to be accessable/visible on desktop restart *are* visible after closing the particular instances and restarting except tkremind, but were not accessible/visible until closing the instances and restarting. I'm repeating myself but know not what other information to provide.
