[opensuse-factory] design question

After installing a package why not ask if the user wants to install or remove more packages before bringing up the YaST2 Writing the system configuration? This would save a lot of time and make things faster when multiple uses of Software Management is going to happen I would think. [opensuse-factory] making USB devices visible to VirtualBox

I've googled and tried many things, but none work. # mount|grep usb usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw,devgid=46,devmode=664,) /dev/bus/usb on /proc/bus/usb type none (rw,bind) Appreciate any suggestions. VirtualBox 2.0.6 and previous versions all affected. message: Could not load the Host USB Proxy Service (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) The service might be not installed on the host computer. Result Code: NS_ERROR (0x00004005) Component: Host etc. lsusb on the running VM shows the 2 hubs with the same vendor:poduct ID's. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... [opensuse-factory] Status networkmanager-kde4 (KDE:Unstable)

Hi All, can somebody shed some light on $SUBJ? I am currently running a KDE4:Unstable installation on factory. I tried networkmanager-kde4 multiple times during the last weeks, and it surely is progressing nicely. However, I am still not able to connect to a wireless network and even worse, the moment I install the package, knetworkmanager(KDE3) stops working. Is there a bug/blog/whatever, where the state of networkmanager-kde4 can be tracked? [opensuse-factory] How to use system if even keyboard dont work right? (bnc 432627)

In all development releases since beta2 (maybe even earlier) backspace on my keyboard dont work russian keyboard layout. I think this issue not only about russian keyboard layout, but all others cases with two or more keyboard layouts. I've tried to ask for SHIP_STOPPER, but there is not much comments on bug and was rejected. I think it was happened because small nuber of peoples who report bugs use more than one keyboard layout. When I ask who have this issue in factory openSUSE on one of russian linux forums I found that all have this issue, and some peoples comment out bnc432627 with their experience and provide more information. Also I've found that the same issue reproduces in 11.0 with kde3.5 when I install XOrg 7.4 from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.0/ If bug will go to release how I should promote or just recommend system where even keyboard dont work? What I should say to peoples who ask why it happened and what can be done? [opensuse-factory] My observations about openSUSE 11.1 RC1

Hi, I have: > uptime 10:35am up 11:44, 1 user, load average: 0,23, 0,37, 0,42 running openSUSE 11.1 RC-1 live-CD :) , I activated some repositories from YaST and installed some packages so I can work normally in live CD, and I must say that I'm impressed (and all is running from my RAM, even I'm using NetBeans 6.5 right now, wow!), I can't wait to install the final release into my hard drive. But, there are some little things that I would really like in the final release to be fixed: - hide/unhide icons in the system tray (actually there is a dialog for hidding, but you cannot unhide them with the little arrow). - volumen keys don't work - crtl+alt+k don't change the keyboard layout - miss the very functional popup menu in dolphing and konqueror to create or add to a compressed file (zip, tar, tar.gz, etc). from a folder or files, I use this menu every day in KDE3. - kdebluetooth4 don't start Rgds. -- Xavier Callejas Open your mind, use Open Source. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe(a)opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help(a)opensuse.org

I just updated beta 5 via zypper. All seems to have gone well, but I noticed there's STILL a "show stopper" for a LOT of users with Intel video. Performance is the pits.....pure and simple. OpenGL screen savers don't run properly....often with a small widow of the same image super imposed on the full image, and they can still lock up the 'puter. Because of this, I don't dare install RC1 on a desktop with a nVidia video card for fear of what will happen. There are driver and/or "X" problems that must get fixed before release. wmv format movie clips "stutter".......not smooth due to poor performance.
