Hello, Until now I tested smaller office sw on PPC, like abiword + gnumeric and koffice. Now I wanted to install OpenOffice.org, but I could not as OpenOffice.org is not available. Looking at the logs at https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?arch=ppc&package=OpenOffi… I see, that it was last tried to build beginning August. Could you please trigger a rebuild, and check if it works now? [opensuse-factory] XFS Boot Problem

Anyone know why RC1 suddenly says it won't boot if I make /boot and XFS partition? I've been running XFS as a /boot partition since 10.3 with no problems and never noticed this message before. I'm installing now and don't know if it will or won't work but will let everyone know. I presume there is a change in code that has meant this message now presents itself? [opensuse-factory] RC1 and bluetooth adapter

I have a bluetooth adapter that works fine on openSUSE 11.0 but in openSUSE 11 RC1 doesn't work. When I run kbluemon I get the following error: No bluetooth adapter found! Unable to start kbluemon. Check your bluetooth adapter or restart the bluetooth service. The bluetooth service is running and openSUSE detects the bluetooth adapter. This is what I get when I run lsusb: Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) What could be wrong? [opensuse-factory] Failing to suspend - now with beeps!

OK, so openSUSE 11.1 RC1, I try to get my Sony Vaio FW-190 laptop to suspend, (this is GNOME) instead it locks the screen and makes several loud distressed beeps. It does not suspend the computer. So what do the beeps mean, and how can I diagnose the problem? Hi, as I just looked into it, I thought it might be of interest for someone else. looking at the last kernel update i found the following in the changelog: * Mo Nov 24 2008 agruen(a)suse.de - Switch from a no_file_caps command line switch to file_caps={0,1} for enabling/disabling file capabilities, and make file_caps=0 the default: we cannot get the no_file_caps option added to the kernel command line anymore (perl-Bootloader, bnc#418366). Sadly I cannot read bnc#418366. Looking at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-commit/2008-11/msg01663.html: I see: ++ file_caps Tells the kernel whether to honor file capabilities. ++ When disabled, the only way then for a file to be ++ executed with privilege is to be setuid root or executed ++ by root. ++ Format: {"0" | "1"} ++ 0 -- ignore file capabilities. ++ 1 -- honor file capabilities. ++ Default value is 1. so the default is 1 as I hoped and not 0, which would be different than vanilla. [opensuse-factory] network disabled after networkinstallation in B5

Just a quick question. Yesterday night just before i dashed off going home, i did a fresh install (not an update) of B5 on a HP-DL320. Everything installed smoothly (at least two of my issues are solved eg unreadable fields while partitioning and missing yast2-schema). However after installing, networks seems dead. a) installation is done via pxe and a local install-server b) "ethtool eth0" indicates that cable is plugged in. c) after rebooting the system got its ip-address via DHCP (!!) These three indicate a working network d) firewall is "full open", for ipv4 and ipv6 e) tcpdump showd only outgoing traffic (looked just for a short while, but on busy network) f) ping to my dhcp-server, default-gw, dns-aerver failed. g) no such problem in 11.1-beta4 h) realtek-chipset afair, (no intel ;-) Any simular experiences? If so, any remedies?
