[opensuse-factory] Desktop Icons
After installing snapshot 10241011 the 'Desktop Icons' appeared in the panel instead of on the desktop, so I can't use it. Any suggestion how to place it in the right place? I've lost it. Where/what is/are "Desktop Icons", how do you access it? KDE/Gnome/...? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I'm using KDE. In previous version there was an icon on the desktop named 'Desktop Icons' , also called 'Cashew' , which I could use to change a wallpaper for instance. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

OK, remember now. Do not use it much. Get similar desktop function from a widget called "Show the Desktop". Did you try unlocking widgets and dragging it onto the desktop? On my system it will not leave the screen edge and will not attach to the "Panel". short search and long guess: /usr/bin/kactivitymanagerd try: ps aux |grep kactivitymanagerd if the answer does not indicate it running, <alt><f2> /usr/bin/kactivitymnagerd but it appears that app is called by systemd, probably when initiating the gui whatever the replacement name is for "runlevel 5". It is a "levels" of some sort which I *should* learn. I still use the desktops rather than activities. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
