[all either KDE3 or KDE4] All was working fine on this i845G host gx260 before tonight's updates, e.g. 1600x1200 or 1792x1344 @arbitrary DPI. Now to get personalized config instead of 1024x768@96DPI before painting starts requires a startup xrandr script, or screwing up desktop by running xrandr after desktop offers a menu, where --dpi and -fbmm xrandr options are ignored by panel and restored apps. Screen configuration in Kcontrol is not available. All still works as expected on same machine booted to freshly updated 13.1 with Kubecek's 3.12 kernel. So I tried an i915G host gx280, with Xorg:X11 repo enabled, without updating since 5 weeks ago and found it had same problem, which I didn't discover because I had only tried with the xrandr script and not either xorg.conf* approach. This one got fixed by tonight's updates, but only for xorg.conf.d/ (to produce 1600x1200@120), not xorg.conf (only 1024x768@96). I booted another i845G (host t2240), updated the night before, also tried last only with xrandr script. With xrandr script, OK, otherwise, stuck with 1024x768@96. Next, a radeon rv200 last updated 27 Sept (host gx27bn). It obeys 50-monitor.conf and xorg.conf both before and after tonight's updates, but has Xorg:X11 repo enabled. Next, a radeon rv380 last updated 2 October, and 64 bit (host big41). It obeys xorg.conf, but it too has Xorg:X11 repo enabled. I pulled the rv380 and plugged the VGA cable into the Intel VGA port, and it still obeys xorg.conf. Next, 32 bit i845G host gx270 last updated 24 Aug, without Xorg:X11 repo. It obeyed xorg.conf, until I replaced Sumski's old B.S. xf86-video-intel-3.0.0git[1] with xf86-video-intel-2.99.916-2.2. Could I really be the first openSUSE 13.2 user to notice this? Searching for xf86-video-intel in recent bugzilla.opensuse.org bugs produces no hits anywhere near on point. Nothing searching simply intel in past 4 months looks close either, or on bugs.freedesktop.org searching for xorg.conf in intel driver product. I was recently told the Sumski git3.0 driver was actually older than the 2.99.xxx driver in the standard repo, but I can't recall the context of or authority for the statement. 3.0.0git-216.1 definitely restored proper xorg.conf recognition on 945G host gx62b and 865G host gx270.
