[opensuse-factory] Changes in mounting encrypted partitions?

Hello, I'm using an encrypted /home partition and have a /var -> /home/sys-var/ symlink. This means I need /home mounted early so that /var becomes available. Therefore, I'm using the "initrd" flag in /etc/crypttab: cr_home /dev/md1 none initrd In the past (13.1 and Factory some months ago), I was asked for the /home passphrase a second after grub in text mode. Since some weeks (sorry, I don't remember the exact date), the system starts booting and asks for the passphrase after maybe 20 seconds, with a nice plymouth input field (which is partly displayed outside of my screen, probably caused by using a laptop + additional screen). A related issue could be that plymouth just uses a black background instead of the nice boot screen I'd expect. So the main question is: Is asking for the passphrase later (especially when the "initrd" flag is specified) an intentional change or a bug? Bonus points if someone can tell me why plymouth doesn't display a nice picture and displays the passphrase input field partly off-screen ;-) Regards, Christian Boltz -- Wie behebt man wohl das Problem einer vollen Mailbox? [opensuse-factory] Long boot time with Live KDE openSUSE 13.2 RC1 image

Downloaded the RC1 and dd to my usb thumbdrive. Plugged into my computer and booted up, but the boot time was very slow. The cause of this appeared to be: 1. The live image re-partitioning the usb device to have three partitions - sdc1; sdc2; sdc3 2. Note i have checked md5sum and running "check installation media" gives me the same result as above. Have not yet booted the live image in my usb 2 port. Thoughts? [opensuse-factory] nfs root is mounted read-only?

Booting from a nfs root filesystem appears to leave the root in read-only? [opensuse-factory] 13.2 Network Manager may be having problems like last time

I just spotted the following in the user help mailing list. This sounds an awful lot like before when we'd have to reboot to get a network connection. The network-manager icon is visible in the System tray with a red x next to it. When I hover over the icon it says "NetworkManager not running". When I click on the icon I see that no connection is configured. [opensuse-factory] Build mysql failed in aarch64

Hi, guys This is Bamvor Jian Zhang from huawei OS team. I am trying to build mysql in aarch64. But It is failed because of compiler internal error[1]. Marcus want me to provide the smallest code about this compiler internal error. But the rror become random When I try to simplify the code(The original code failed every times). Meanwhile, I got libitm confilict when I try to build mysql through gcc49. It seems that libitm should be share with different compiler versions. It is why spec file put the libitm to a common directory, isn't it? So, I stuck here. Is here some suggestion about build mysql aarch64? Thanks. [opensuse-factory] Kernel version and DP-MST support in openSUSE 13.2?

Hi everyone, I just have a quick question: Which kernel version will be released with openSUSE 13.2? Will it be - 3.17 as stated here https://news.opensuse.org/2014/09/22/opensuse-13-2-is-coming-first-beta-has… or - 3.16 as in RC1 and later? Background: With somewhat recent Lenovo Thinkpad series laptops and docking stations DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (DP-MST) support is needed to get multiple screens working (independently). Similarly, many 4K displays may require DP-MST support to function correctly. DP-MST support for the Intel display driver was developed here http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~airlied/linux/log/?h=drm-i915-mst-support and seems to be included in kernel 3.17. Will this code be backported to provide DP-MST support openSUSE 13.2 in case it's released with kernel 3.16? I am certainly willing to help testing and/or open a bugreport/feature request if needed.
