[opensuse-factory] RC1 USB GSM modem Huawei went broken

System is on an EeePC 900, I had Milestone 8 running just fine. I upgraded with zypper dup from Milestone 8 to Rc1. So far I had been using this USB GSM modem with wvdial quite swimmingly. (I never got it to work with Network Manager although it works fine in 11.0.) I thought I'll try a fresh install since this one has been upgraded several times and it's been perhaps borked somehow during my experiments. I attached a USB CD drive and booted from NET install CD. The installation stops to USB drivers somewhere in "lookin.for update something" Can't go on. I put the Live KDE image on a USB stick and booted from it. It boots but when I attach the Huawei thingy the above messages is what I get. The worst is that I had Milestone 8 working nicely but I've somehow lost it's install image, I can't go back. Can the previous netinstall image still be obtained from somewhere? [opensuse-factory] Link to libcairo.so faulty after 'zypper dup'

This morning I did a zypper dup and got a total of 5 packages changes, one of which was libcairo.so.2. After the update, neither Firefox not Thunderbird would restart. When I tried to restart Thunderbird from the console, the message was "/usr/lib64/thunderbird/thunderbird-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libcairo.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" Upon investigation, the link /usr/lib64/libcairo.so.2 pointed to /usr/lib64/libcairo.so.2.10902.0, which was no longer present. When I removed the link and created one to the new version at /usr/lib64/libcairo.so.2.10800.8, then both programs started working. [opensuse-factory] [installation] create volume group failure

Why when I try to do a fresh install from Factory HTTP to a pre-partitioned system using pre-configured LVM for / and Fedora and /home does the installer think it needs to "create volume group", and abort because it cannot? Could it have anything to do with no bootloader configuration? I have Grub installed on the first partition, but do not intend for it to be mounted as /boot. Instead I mount it on /disks/boot so that I can configure it myself as circumstances dictate. Does this need a bug filed? Just out of curiosity, are there going to be any torrents created for the delta ISOs? There are torrents for the full DVD images but it looks as though the delta ISOs have been overlooked with this release. Hi , Is the openSUSE 11.2 RC1 Gnome Live-Cd 64-bit Broken ? I am not able to add it as an installation source. And if I copy the image to a USB stick (via dd) and try to boot with it. Hi List mates! I tried installing openSUSE 11.2 M8 two days ago, and it succeeded to boot, but failed to display the KDE 4 desktop (neither VESA or other resolutions). Is there any easier way to solve this? The kernel package is a huge file that will suffer for the low (unreliable) bandwidth user like me, even (IMHO) reinstalling the package is the easiest way to do it. Hi, I just went into Yast Software installation. fetchmsttfonts was autoselected so I installed it. During the installation process for every font (many times) there was written fetched ok extraction failed. I was looking for the logfile. In which logfile is the whole log?
