[opensuse-factory] openSUSE 11.2 RC1: Rendering Issue

Hallo, I have no problem about M8 (except radeonhd issue[0]), works fine and faster. But when i did "zypper dup" to RC1 i found some strange rendering issue on KDE 4 desktop, seems to be slower, and higher CPU load consume by Xorg and KWin (about 15% to30% on opening GIMP, Desktop Effect, or watching movie on Kaffeine, and at worst it hangs or sometimes it shutdown itself because of overheating when browsing Facebook pages: fill comment, see events, etc on same time). Because i did not find it neither on M8 or openSUSE 11.1 (same driver[1] with all KDE 4 versions). But sees like matches this bug[2]. Specifically, the problem manifests itself for me as clicks not being registered by the applications. It's not universal, though. The Novell Innerweb toolbar uses flash and it works fine. Pandora.com does not, though. Those are just examples off the top of my head. I've seen it on other sites as well. [opensuse-factory] When sending a PGP signed email in thunderbird, it fails

Hi, When I send an email, signed with PGP, with thunderbird, I get a message box that says: Send operation aborted. Error - encryption command failed gpg command line and output: /usr/bin/gpg gpg: problem with the agent: Not supported gpg: skipped "0xEB267D05": General error gpg: [stdin]: clearsign failed: General error And I have to send without signature. This is RC1, under gnome. It worked on M7 and before. I'm asking here and not in gnome list because I don't know who is to "blame". Furthermore: dissabling PGP signing for this message does not work. Hi . I have just done a zypper dup on the laptop now i am unable to boot the machine with using x11 failsafe and radeon.modset=0 on the grub command line without these the machine does not boot fully goes black screen and is dead no ssh into it no keyboard nothing at all have to force a hard restart to regain control The machine is as follows ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics using 128Mb shared memory Turion 64 bit cpu 1.5Gb Ram 60 Gb hdd I have tried removing xorg.conf to no avail the only error shown in "var/log/Xorg.0.log" is with respect to the fglrx module and where that has come from i dont know not on this machine at all this did not happen prior to the latest updates Pete PS it is NOT this machine that is at a lower level and awaiting a new hard drive . -- Powered by openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 2 (x86_64) Kernel: 2.6.30-rc6-git3-4- default KDE: 4.2.86 (KDE 4.2.86 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090514)) "release 1" 21:17 up 12 days 23:00, 4 users, load average: 1.12, 1.12, 0.92

[opensuse-factory] Network does not work after upgrade through zypper up

I had this problem with the update to milestone 8 from milestone 7 and have it again with the update from milestone 8 to rc1. It looks like DNS does not work anymore. The last time I solved it by downloading milestone 8 and installing from DVD. I'll do the same now. (But with RC1 instead off milestone 8 offcourse.) When it was working 'route -n' gave: Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 1 0 0 eth0 127.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 U 0 0 0 lo 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0 Just now (with RC1 installed with zypper up) the 127.0.0.0 entry was not existing. With: route add -net 127.0.0.0 I got: SIOCADDRT: invalid argument. The sonar-icon-theme (available on factory but not used by default) blends better with the sonar-theme used in gnome. [opensuse-factory] Is it possible to renice the new thunderbird indexing

Hi, I think I like the new feature of Thunderbird, used to index all email. I wonder what are the advantages over beagle, or if it could use the beagle engine instead.
