Hi, As we still have 11 ship stoppers, I don't see us releasing RC1 in time. RC1 should be ready for prime time and the current state of factory is only almost ready. [opensuse-factory] Kernel sources for NVIDIA compilation

Hi, I think that I read somewhere that the full install of the kernel sources is not necessary any more to compile the NVIDIA driver but I can't find the information how to do it now on the internet. What needs to be installed now? How to "configure" the sources then? [opensuse-factory] mkinitrd fails after upgrading from M7 to M8

Hi, after upgrading from M7 to M8 I can't boot any more. The initrd is missing. When I execute "mkinitrd", I get the following error messages: ------------------- Kernel image: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-10-desktop Initrd image: /boot/initrd-2.6.31-10-desktop cp: cannot stat `/etc/scsi_id.config': No such file or directory Root device: /dev/vgsystem/root (mounted on / as ext4) mkdir: cannot create directory `etc/sysconfig': File exists /lib/mkinitrd/setup/62-dm.sh: line 32: etc/sysconfig/kernel: Not a directory mkdir: cannot create directory `/dev/shm/mkinitramfs.4sGvKk/mnt/etc/sysconfig': File exists /lib/mkinitrd/setup/91-clock.sh: line 19: /dev/shm/mkinitramfs.4sGvKk/mnt/etc/sysconfig/clock: Not a directory Script /lib/mkinitrd/setup/91-clock.sh failed! ------------------- Booting without initrd does not work. I have / under LVM control. Any ideas why mkinitrd fails ? Thanks SuSE; For fixing kradio - well actually it was Yast2 Hardware TV writing the TV/Radio information correctly. [opensuse-factory] MS8 printing is "grey"

Hi, I have a Canon ip4300 with the Gutenprint driver installed, but when I print, everything is "grey" meaning that wherever should be only color, is still a lot of black printed. [opensuse-factory] mkinitrd / grub problem

Hey SuSE; mkinitrd and/or grub is giving a error stating that it can not deal with sda7. I assume that is because a partition type EXT4 issue. This box is a i686 with IDE drives and one USB drive. NOTE: "/" is /dev/sda7 and is EXT4 (as shown in /etc/fstab" . I removed some of the fstab info to save bandwidth. [opensuse-factory] Wrong depency with twinkle

Under 11.1 I have installed Twinkle and SQLite3. Works without a problem. With 11.2 I can only install Twinkle when I install SQLite2. Hey Group; SuSE fixed acroread so that it does work. Good deal! However, it was fixed so well that it comes up without being called This time of "startx" brings up KDE4 and at least one and likely more acroread blank images. Hit the "X" or exit and it comes right back. [opensuse-factory] Possible zypper glitch

Hi . Well just done a zypper up on my laptop running MS7 . it claims to have updated the kernel to 2.6.31-10.1 from 2.6.31-9 But i did not have -9 on the machine it was -8 on it . Toward the end of the zypper session it threw up a large amount of reports attempting to carry out actions on deleted files then asked for the process to be re started i just got the report nothing to do . This appears to not check what it is doing before it attempts to carry an action as exampled by the Kernel versions and the now failed sym links still booting 2.6.31-8 but installed 2.6.31-10.1 i have saved the zypper.log and /var/log/zypp/history if they are of use . Pete.

[opensuse-factory] Documents / Documente two folders, why?

Hi, since I test the Milestones for 11.2, every Milestone creates these two folders in my home directory: Documents and Dokumente In my opinion one of them is useless and shouldn't appear.
