[opensuse-factory] "su nobody" fails?

After upgrading openSUSE 11.1 to openSUSE 11.2 (Milestone 8) I saw in log files, that "su nobody" no longer works. Switching to nobody is used for instance during (remote) login using XDM, KDM etc. From /var/log/xdm.errors: (EE) Failed to load module "freetype" (module does not exist, 0) (EE) config/hal: NewInputDeviceRequest failed (8) (EE) config/hal: NewInputDeviceRequest failed (8) (EE) config/hal: NewInputDeviceRequest failed (8) Driver not XRANDR 1.2 capable, ignoring DISPLAYMANAGER_RANDR_MODE_* settings su: incorrect password 0 items in XFree86_VT property! "su nobody" also fails in command line: mybox:~ # id uid=0(root) gid=0(root) Gruppen=0(root) mybox:~ # su nobody su: incorrect password Any ideas? # zypper in wine System management is locked by the application with pid 16920 (/usr/sbin/packagekitd). Close this application before trying again. [opensuse-factory] acroread and firefox

Hey Group; About 2 days ago I downloaded from a "zypper update" acroread from a rpm. Fine it works but a bit to well. [opensuse-factory] Updates to 11.2 M8

Are there any updates going on between releases? I have Milestone 8 installed and I know RC1 is supposed to come out next week. In the meantime, are there any incremental package updates and, if so, how do I get them? I have the 'Default-Update-Repository' enabled. [opensuse-factory] pam-devel blocked

Hi, packages in Linux-PAM are blocked for SLE_11 as well as for openSUSE_Factory because of pam-devel. Can somebody please un-block pam-devel ? Hello all I have a "No CD DVD writer found." after updating from M7 to M8 # message details K3b did not find an optical writing device in your system. Thus, you will not be able to burn CDs or DVDs. Hi, I'm using thunderbird 3.0b4-1.3 and an email I sent to this list was bounced due to html content from I assume a date I pasted from bugzilla. I have had to enter opensuse.org as a plain text domain and resend it to avoid this in future. [opensuse-factory] Default exit mode of Yast-software-manager

Hi! In 11.1 the mode of exit for yast-software-manager upon the successful completion of installation was to exit without confirmation. I wanted to ask if for 11.2 this default could be changed to show the summary page instead, as it is much more useful/reassuring for a user to see this after a successful confirmation rather than the software-manager abruptly disappearing. Please note that I understand how to set this to be the exit mode of yast- software-management from /etc/sysconfigeditor in yast. Why is that checkinstall can not write a RPM file in /usr/src/packages/BUILDROOT. This is something which showed up in M7 previous version of M6 back worked correctly.
