[opensuse-factory] Slowness with factory update servers

Is anyone else seeing very slow downloads when trying to update factory packages? For me, it's been going on at least 14 hours now. I have been getting errors such as: Failed to download ./suse/noarch/bundle-lang-kde-en-11.2-19.1.noarch.rpm from http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/ Or very slow (2-5 KB/s) initial downloads on larger (20-25 MB) packages that will slowly speed up as the package is downloading. [opensuse-factory] nfs mount Problem

Hello, i don't found any of this in Bugzilla can any test my Problem ? I have a 10.3 system (server), on this system 2 partitions are exported /data1 /data2 with the 11.2 only one partition are mounted on start "/data2--> /datas2" I can mount "/datas1" after systemstart with "mount /datas1" a other Problem I can't found any logs for the nfs mount on the 11.2 system ? [opensuse-factory] PS/2 keyboard does not work while install suse11.2 RC1

Hello everyone, i tried to make the 11.2 RC1build 331 install, but the keyboard (PS/2) does not work in the graphic installation environment. (using german layout). I tried another keyboard (also PS/2) without success. The keyboard which i use works well in Suse 11.0 and 11.1. Try the option "secure kernel" helps and keyboard works in textmode. Does anyone know whats wrong? I allready send a message to radeonhd(a)opensuse.org, but I did not get a response yet. Maybe someone hear nows a solution. I tried to get a xorg.conf by installing Kubuntu. Kubuntu works okay in graphical mode, but it does not install a xorg.conf file. So it was not an usefull exercition. :-[ The mail I dend to radeonhd(a)opensuse.org: I have a strange problem when installing openSUSE 11.2 RC1 om a Medion Akoya E1001 D. The graphical card is a RS690M [Radeoin X1200 series]. When installing I have a grafical interface, but after the reboot I do not have it. When running sax2 I get the message that I have to delete the 'Monitor "Monitor[0]"' in the screen section. When I copy the conf-file sax2 to /etc/X11/xorg.conf and put the above section into comment and run startx I get the messages I have partly put under this message. I have the parts of the log-file that I think are important included. If you need more information: let me know. All the lines in /etc/hosts.allow start with a tab. This gives a lot of warning messages in /var/log/messages (missing ":" separator). Some may have already noticed this bug/design choice: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=548089 If you add Packman or any OBS repo to 11.2rc, the updates will be hidden from you by YaST and zypper - because they involve a vendor change. As seen in this screenshot: http://bugzillafiles.novell.org/attachment.cgi?id=323038 This means that to update libxine1, amarok or any other package in the distro to Packman or OBS versions, you have three options: 1) Manually go to the Versions tab in YaST *every* time you want to replace a distro package with a 3rd party one - with *nothing* whatsoever telling you that an upgrade is actually available for your choosing - you must be aware of this yourself. 2) Set 'solver.AllowVenderChange = true' in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf 3) create '/etc/zypp/vendors.d/foobar' with your trusted vendors. Naturally *no* new user will *ever* figure out any of this without expert help - and neither will most existing openSUSE users. I think the vast majority of openSUSE users add one or more Packman/OBS repos and want to be able to upgrade packages in the distro without having to fight the package manager to do it. Personally I think this is a total disaster for openSUSE, and a nightmare for anyone who tries to promote openSUSE and help newbies. Binderman are marked as Junior bugs. We are glad that we have two community members who fix these bugs. But we should not forget on upstream and if it's possible we should move bug reports to upstream. Then it's up to maintainer and situation if he push fix to devel project and then to factory, or if he grab fix trough the upstream update Spellchecker ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We talk about possibility to have one system spell checker for whole distro, (fate#305688). For now candidates are hunspell and enchant. First step is to create list of packages which depend on some spell checker. [opensuse-factory] openSUSE 11.2 setup in OBS

Hi, The openSUSE Build Service is now building 11.2 in the openSUSE 11.2 project. openSUSE:Factory is de-prefered atm (building only, if really nothing else is there). The build-compare stuff is disabled for now (to ensure that all packages get the new tags and that all packages have chronical build times). We will enable it again after GA (when openSUSE:11.2 project is frozen).
