Initiative for migrating some wiki contents

Dear all, Along with other volunteers I am pushing for a plan to improve the state of the documentation platforms, trying make the docs more accessible, usable and overall better for the end users. I've compiled a couple of thoughts about how to go about it here: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Documentation_migration I'd like to know two things: 1) Are there people whose interests overlap this initiative and who would work in person with us to move this forward? 2) Among the people in (1), what is the minimum amount of things you would change to the document mentioned above to support it community-wide (for example by placing a shortened version of this document on the wikis landing page or portals). As per https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/19356, the openSUSE board has decided that the mailing lists "opensuse-wiki" and "opensuse-web" should be merged into one, leaving "opensuse-web" as the active list. Unless I hear otherwise, I intend to issue automatic subscription requests for opensuse-web on behalf of all the current opensuse-wiki subscribers, according to your current type of subscription (regular / nomail). You will need to confirm this request. I have undertaken to create a page that explain why Leap has what some perceive as an old kernel, after a thread in the factory mail list. Hi, I have proofread the German version of Portal:Leap/Intro: https://de.opensuse.org/Portal:Leap/Intro I hope that the German reading flow is now a little bit better. The first version had some anglicism which were a little bit difficult to understand in German. Hope that's ok. Thank you, but for me that page also displays without formatting for display, at least on Chrome. Your response prompted me to try Edge and Firefox where that page displays with formatting. So do other pages. Clearing Chrome's cache seemed to improve the situation, but not completely fix it. Does anyone know which cookies belong to openSUSE's wiki? As might be noticed in https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2017-08/msg00407.html and https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1025725 and elsewhere, the online upgrade procedure is anything but foolproof. In that mailing list thread at https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2017-08/msg00410.html I noted my variations on the described procedure intended to make it more reliable. I'm considering including components of my procedure as alternative options in the "official" offline procedure in the wiki, essentially replacing zypper dup with at a minimum zypper in zypper libzypp rpm libsolv-tools zypper dup Any comments? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
