We should decide how to handle subpages ie. those like:
HowTos/GNOME/ExtendingNautilus
For little benefit of automatic back links (sometimes called bread crumbs)
page title look like URL path which is not good layout. When someone moves
page those back links mix with redirect back links making line that should
help browsing, actually confusing. To see what I mean try this link:
http://en.opensuse.org/HowTos/GNOME/ExtendingNautilus
Page was moved to make HOWTO naming consistent, and now user has 2 links to
follow.
I propose to use subpages to one level depth as additional explanation to the
main article, that user has to read and then go back to the main topic, and
only in such cases where additional explanation is specific to main article.
If it is about how to switch to root, that is used all over the wiki, so very
much not specific it has to go to separate page.
What do you think?

This sounds like a great idea and a solution that has been long overdue. I remember after cleaning up KDE and GNOME categories Binner still wanted a way to view all articles related to KDE. This way anyone who would like to do this can just view all in that namepsace. I definitely think this is a change that should come into existence soon.

I think that GNOME and KDE should have their name spaces, like SDB. They are
large enough and they will grow. Title "GNOME:Extending Nautilus HOWTO" looks
much better than "GNOME/Extending Nautilus HOWTO". Browsing all articles
about GNOME would be as simple as providing link similar to one for SDB:
http://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=Special%3AAllpages&from=&namespace=1…
No need for categories. Stray cats will be easy to put in the cage with just
one move from <something about GNOME> to GNOME:<something about GNOME> . This
would resolve problem how to tag articles that belong to some large project.
Categories are not really the best way.
As both desktops related articles appear often this should be discussed fast
and done as soon as possible to minimize amount of work to move articles in
appropriate place.

A good idea as well. Hopefully some will listen to Martin Lasarsch and
Zonker at http://www.novell.com/feeds/openaudio/?p=203 .

An even better idea. Though the filename has KDE4 in it, when most
people fire it up, they certainly will get a 'surprise', IMO.

I have two small proposals for software.opensuse.org regarding the live CDs.
1) It seems it's not clear to all people that the livecds are installable. I
suggest to add "(installable)" after LiveCD in section 2, "Choose
installation medium"
2) The link for the KDE CD says: "Live CD KDE (644 MB)", I suggest to change
it to "Live CD KDE 4.0 (644 MB)". So noone will get nasty surprises.. even
though the filename says KDE4.

Hi
I will start now to change the frontpages, download etc. pages on all wikis to
point to openSUSE 11.0 instead of 10.3. I will rollback after it, so tomorrow
another rollback will just do the thing ...
Please don't make any changes in the meantime. If you are not sure if i
touched the page look at the version history.
If you are a sysop and want to help with the rollback, please come tomorrow in
the opensuse-project channel. The final go for the release will be there. The
planed time is 15:00 CEST ...

I decided to start working on a script to scan the openSUSE wiki and print out
the current category hierarchy. I had already notified Rajko of this via his
talk page saying that I would probably not be able to work out the bugs for
another 2 weeks. It turns out I am ahead of schedule!
I have posted the output on my user page, http://en.opensuse.org/User:Last2kn0.
I am considering putting this output side by side with the proposed categories
in the openSUSE:Category_Hierarchy page. If someone would like me to post the
script, I can also do that.
This should help us keep an eye on how we are transforming what we currently
have into what we proposed!

Is there a way to find all sub-pages from a starting point? I've found
that several pages under /GNOME/ didn't have the [[Category:GNOME]] tag
added to it, and I want to be able to review all sub-pages that might
have slipped through the cracks.
Thanks.

Hi,
I'd like to set up an Accessibility section at
http://en.opensuse.org/Accessibility. The main intent is to help bring
together the various groups of a11y users/contributors/developers across
our distribution to one place. We're in a bit of a quandary because
many of us don't know the existence of the others.
My question, looking at en.opensuse.org home page, how do we ensure
that /Accessibility is visible so everyone is aware of its existence?
