There's an "International Symposium on Wikis and Open Collaboration"
being held in Orlando, Florida from 10/25-10/27:
http://www.riehle.org/2008/12/31/wikisym-2009-call-for-papers-submissions/
Is there anything we might want to present related to the openSUSE
wiki at this conference? Orlando is only two hours away for me.
Best,
Zonker

Hi, all.
I'd like to have a float design for package information based on:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_mineral
and to have finally something like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrite
I've tried to copy design into:
http://en.opensuse.org/Template:Information
and to apply it here:
http://en.opensuse.org/MultiplicationStation
As you can see my page looks ugly. Initially I've used HTML markup, but
then switched to WIKI, but it didn't help.
Please, help me to improve it and to have really clean and nice look for
package information box.
Thanks in advance.
Kirill

That 'here' points to the factory, while article is about normal net
installation. I changed it a bit to underscore that.
Those pages and used templates are a bit out of sync with repositories and
similar wiki pages. We have to check all those instructions and bring them
under one roof. (no, not me alone)

Hello,
the attached patch contains several fixes for
http://software.opensuse.org/expert.html and the <noscript> area of
http://software.opensuse.org/
- add links to the nonOSS Addon CD which were missing completely
- fix links in PPC bittorrent links (they were empty)
- several colspan fixes
- fix in the description text - footnote 3 still said that the DVD
contains "all packages, _including_ non-Open Source Software."
I changed it to "all packages, _except_ ..." to match the new DVD
content.
- (you may want to add a footnote for the nonOSS CD)
The patch was made against expert.html, but it works also against the
main page if you use
patch -l index.html < expert.html.diff
(the -l is important because of whitespace diffs). You'll get an offset
of 1174 lines.
Please apply the patch to both pages and update software.opensuse.org.
BTW: Are the software.o.o pages in some SVN? I couldn't find them on
https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/opensuse/trunk/infrastructure/ ...
BTW2: It would be a good idea to move the table to a separate file that
is included by the <noscript> area and expert.html. This would save
duplicate work and also ensures both pages share the same
bugs^Wcontent ;-)

Es ist der Beweis, daß es _so_ _nicht_ geht. Und das ist erstmal ein
Wissensgewinn. Ich denke, der Weg sollte jetzt nicht sein "Es soll aber!
Bieg! Quetsch!", sondern "Wie dann?". [Ratti in fontlinge-devel]
Hello,
it looks like the only page on news.opensuse.org that is accessible is
the main page http://news.opensuse.org/ and the images etc. embedded in
it.
For every other page (I guess everything that relies on mod_rewrite),
for example
http://news.opensuse.org/2008/12/18/sneak-peeks-at-opensuse-111-kde-in-open…
I only get a 404 error :-(
Please check and fix this ASAP!

This is my comment on opensuse mail list, with idea for future release days.
I got direct mail without any comments, just quote of original message, but I
guess that it shows interest :-)

Hi
good news everybody .... The wiki server farm just got 3 new quadcore servers,
and Peter tweaked the configuration. So hopefully it's not a pain to edit the
pages like last time.
We will release at tomorrow at 14:00 CET, after that we should change the
wikis. It would be really appreciated if you take care of your
$lang.opensuse.org wiki. If not i will change at least the main and download
page.
I will take care of en and de, if you can do some work at 14:00 please let me
know (list re:).

Interesting issue with the English wiki, images that have been
successfully uploaded and inserted into the page are not being shown on
the page.

We can see that Chinese Traditional and Chinese Simplified wiki pages
are ready for announce for a long time.
Maybe some features are not implement, like SDB namespace or some
interwiki things.
But we have work for these two wikis a long time.
Hope we can fix these little bugs and be announced with openSUSE 11.1.
Thanks
with Regards
