I notice a lot of the Buildservice documentation is getting a little bit dusty.
Most of the distributions referred to as examples are over a year old.
I know that often people do want to build on older distros, but -
For me as a user, that makes me doubt the currency of the page,
and worry that maybe things are outdated.
If you think it's a good idea and have some spare time, it might be nice
someone could take a look and freshen up a few pages.

Also is the Roadmap up to date?

Many thanks!!

Hello,
why is there a separate category Team pages in addition to the existing
category Teams? Should they be merged in [[Category:Teams]] (or
[[Category:Team]])?
The only project related object that may be not be "Team pages" but only
team releated project pages I see in [[Category:Teams]] is the
[[Category:Boosters]]

Hallo.
I am maintaining Smart Card packages.
There were two dedicated pages for it:
http://en.opensuse.org/Smart_Cardshttp://en.opensuse.org/Smart_Cards/Advisories
The latter URL was used in external links (security advisories). It is
possible to migrate them back or should be there any name space changes?

When you see something like this in templates:
</div></div><!--
--><noinclude>
Please do not remove comment delimiters <!-- and --> .
Their purpose is to remove new line that will otherwise appear in page where
template is included, but still keep template source text readable.
The same is valid for Portal page template.
Comment delimiter position is not accidentally right after </div> and extends
to next <div>. It has the same purpose as the one in templates. It is nice
when there is some text, like:
....</div><!--
Left column
--><div> ....
but even without they are not forgotten garbage, but set to keep new lines to
appear in target page, and spoil layout.
I just cleaned up a bit http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Live_USB_stick from such
extra empty lines, that was not possible to see in the page source text. This
page needs rewrite as text is good example how it should NOT be written.
One line Linux instruction, next windows, and that is supposed to be text for
people that are used to read plain text, not a program code.

Regarding the meeting discussion on SEO, which AFAIK was rather unresolved.
I use SEO principles every day so have a few thoughts on the matter,
but first I want to clarify what the aims and constraints for openSUSE
are.
I'm not familiar with Wiki software, so my Main question is: With the
wiki, is it possible to add meta title, keywords, description to
individual pages or are you talking about one wiki-wide set of data?
And are there any other serious constraints to optimizing the Wiki?
(conventions?)
Secondly, what is the AIM of optimizing the Wiki - and other documents
(news, blogs). Is it -
1) make it easier for people to find the openSUSE pages they are looking for?
(for example, make sure that someone searching for OBS step by step
finds the right documentation)
or
2) bring more traffic, and generate interest in openSUSE by optimizing
for non-SUSE-specific topics?
(so that someone searching for 'linux virtual server' finds an openSUSE page)
Of course both are possible!
I've sent this query to both wiki and marketing lists, as SEO can be
considered when writing ANY documentation that will be published. It
is not the mysterious black art that expensive webpreneurs would like
you to think it is.
It is a very simple, clear and easy process. Obviously for best
results a bit of time needs to be invested, but even for a quick blog
post it's possible to spend a few moments considering the SEO.
I'll have some more detail on that soon, but first I'd like to hear
what you are hoping to get out of the SEO process, how you see it
fitting with our aims. World domination is certainly an option....
cheers
Helen
