[opensuse] OpenVPN install problem in openSuse 11.0RC1

Instalation pauses at 100% when instaling OpenVPN... tried to wait about 30 minutes... after switching to VT2, I did a `ps xaf` and saw that rpm executes command `rsasigkey .....` asumed it needs some randomness so did `ls -lR` from root directory... instalation countinues without problems Is this a bug, a defect, or something else? Should I report it to Bugzilla? Motherboard is MSI K9N SLI-2F, CPU AMD Dualcore 4600+, 1 GB RAM, 64bit instalation... nothing unusual This is my first install of RC1, previusly installed beta1, -2, -3 in VirtualBox without problems, but never on real hardware Best regards, Siniša Bandin

Hello, Hello, I've install deepview (http://www.expasy.org/spdbv) in Opensuse10.3 (i386) with success. After run the installation script and run spdbv in a terminal, I have: pc406-23:/opt/SPDBV/bin # ./spdbv No response from any other spdbv process. Becoming master. spdbv.Linux: xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy->request)) >= 0)' failed. ./spdbv: line 44: 26290 Aborted $SPDBV_BASE/bin/$SPDBV_RELEASE.$ARCH $* Has someone installed deepview under OpenSuse 10.3 ? [opensuse] apache rewrite - howto allow http from local lan but require https from outside?

Listmates, A question for our web gurus (Per you listening). I have content on my server, separated into directories, that is protected by basic authorization. Nothing sensitive, kids pictures, etc. set up for family to view/download. Any time a password is required from a remote host, I force a https rewrite. However, I would like to allow access from the local lan with simple http. How do I accomplish this? If it were bash, the logic flow would be: if [ local lan access ]; then allow http access else force https rewrite fi We have both the <Directory> definitions and .htaccess files to work with. mod_rewrite is loaded and working. Anybody familiar with doing this in apache? I'll keep digging through the manual, but if anyone could narrow my search, I would greatly appreciate it. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E. [opensuse] documenting HD partitions...

Hello, I know that on the list someone pointed out how to get all the partition information for the drives. I have 12 disks and I would like to do something other than fdisk and manually typing in the information. What was the commands to get and save all the disk information in case of trouble. My google searches are not working to find the article. [opensuse] Network card driver problem

Hi, ever since I moved my system to an msi 945 based motherboard I have had an irritating intermittent problem with my Ethernet. It works fine, including after power off power on most of the time until it decides not to. I power on my pc and suddenly eth0, although showing up as working does not connect to the router (have tried restarting router etc & there's a vista machine with same giglan type that does not have problem). I've tried various things like starting up with lan disabled in the bios and then restarting with it enabled again, changing cables etc etc. A few weeks ago I recompiled the kernel with an internal lan driver and I had no more problems. I upgraded my kernel and all worked fine until a power fail brought the problem back again. I reinstalled kernel and eth0 worked again for two power cycles then this morning same problem, which was easy to fix, I just reinstalled the kernel and rebooted. The key symptom of failure is when ethtool shows Speed: 100Mb/s it will connect properly but if it shows Speed: 1000Mb/s the system just sits trying to connect to the router but the leds don't indicate any network activity. I've tried to set the speed to 100 but that does not happen, in fact whether eth0 connects or not ethtool cannot change any settings on lan anyway. It seems to me like the driver thinks it is working with eth0 but in fact it doesn't. Please help, I'm stumped. [opensuse] How to Diagnose Wireless

I'm very frustrated with the Wireless I get on my laptops. I have - for example - a fairly new laptop with an Intel 3945 ABG Wifi configured at wlan0. It mostly works. Every once in awhile it just won't connect to my access point. Just now, it dropped the connection, after havign been on for three days. I could not force it to reconnect. I went ahead and pulled a cable over that I was using for another compuer and plugged it in. That connected just fine. [opensuse] Rsync from Linux box to external VFAT drive over CIFS

I hate it when I have to admit defeat but I'm having trouble finding out a resolution to this issue. I'm trying to set up rsync from my linux box to an external drive mounted on a windows box. I mount the drive to /mnt/smb and can access it just fine. But when I attempt to rsync files, it looks like anything beyond one level of sub-directory gives me a permission denied error. At this point I'm trying a simple directory with a few files and some sub-directories in it. Hello, Where can I set the time for the display to switch off after inactivity (with no mouse and keyboard actions). Actually, main problem is that kmplayer does not prevent the display from switching off after some time during watching film.
