[opensuse] Killing the "dreaded dog" in 11.0

Listmates, Beagle is fighting back with additional kerry dependencies in 11.0 prompting modification in the death-to-beagle command line. Now, if you still want a clean kill of the dreaded dog in one shot, you will need the following modified weapon: rpm -e $(rpm -qa | grep beagle | sed -e '/^lib/d') $(rpm -qa | grep kerry) && rm -r ~/.beagle Collect your casings and you can rest comfortably knowing your will never hear the beast howl again ;-) -- David C. [opensuse] online update not possible via squid 11.0

Hi My proxy is squid on a 10.3 server. All is well and firefox can connect via the proxy. Konqueror and online update configuration can't. I get 'query products failed' when doing the online update. I can however install pacman repo and install packages from it I have changed my .curlrc file from: --proxy "http://192.168.1.1:8080" to: --proxy = "http://192.168.1.1:8080" Everything else works apart from the online update. please could anyone help? [opensuse] Strongswan Pluto start fails

Hi, I recently started an upgrade from Suse 10.1 to 11, thereby also changing from Strongswan 2.8.x to 4.2.x I'm using the original Suse packets together with my existing ipsec.* configuration files, enhanced by an "charonstart=no" and "plutostart=yes" to ensure IKEv1 authentication. [opensuse] [Bug 402600] Removal of KDE 3 from Opensuse is Premature

Told you this would happen. They specifically ask for bug reports, and close them as invalid. It appears that opensuse had decided its their way or the highway. You can't insist that they keep KDE3 unless you painstakingly document every thing missing from KDE4. Yet they insist 3 and 4 are separate products. [opensuse] Execute /etc/bash.bashrc as root

Hi there, Since my users authenticate via nis, they cant access /dev/nvidiactl and /dev/nvidia0. I tried to set permissions of these two files to 777. Unfortunately, this works only until the user logs out or closes terminals. So I need to change permission to these files everytime a user opens a terminal. I tried to edit /etc/bash.bashrc (ie insert two chmod lines). This wont work since the user cants execute chmod. I tried chmod +s /etc/bash.bashrc. Without success. I also tried to insert chmod lines into /etc/profile to change the permissions while using kde login. Without success either. Any hints? [opensuse] /home is busy - after user logout

Hello, due to the shutdown problems occuring since kernel update I try to umount my disks manually to avoid disk problems due to incomplete shutdown without unmounting... So I log out from kde, choose "textmode", login (in text mode) as root. When I then umount /home it says /home is busy. But why? How can I find out what process or program is still connected to /home, so that I can kill taht prior to umount? Please help.
