[opensuse] Yast ncurses Software Management in 11.0 - Why no keyboard shortcuts anymore?

Listmates, Text mode yast in 11.0 is missing all of the shortcut keys for search, etc... I thought it must have been an oversight and would be fixed, but after 4 months, they are still not there. Specifically if you go into software management, you can select Alt+F for "Filter", but then all of the shortcut keys are missing for "Patterns", "Languages", "RPM Groups", "Repositories", "Search" (most importantly), and "Installation Summary". Is this a bug or did somebody mean to strip the shortcuts out? Also, the "search" layout is more cumbersome now. Once you select search, you then have to use Alt+P to get to the search phrase text box and then after you enter the search, you have to type Alt+S to actually start the search, the normal return key does nothing. In 10.3, the focus went to the search box automatically, and then a simple return executed the search. Again, is this a bug or this this new (lack of) functionality? Thanks -- David C. Actually, it seems to do nothing more than unpack a tarball to the floppy. I am certain that it could be done in Linux. However, the online instructions are written for mousemaids and don't mention Linux at all. It would literally only take 4 lines of HTML. Furthermore, WD support has no clue that it could be done in Linux, in fact, they claim that it cannot be done. [opensuse] Easy GUI or ncurses libraries/templates for kde3 or cli?

Listmates: I have a number of BASH scripts that I would like to develop a menu to display and then call the ones that I want to call. For example, I have a number of scripts for mounting CIFS/SMB shares on a number of different servers. I would like to develop a simple interface that lists all the scripts and lets me pick one (or more) to execute. Something like calling a file-open dialog and passing the results to be executed would work. For working in kde3 or from konsole/xterm what are the simple tools available? Is QT what I'm looking for as the gui? Is there a minimal c or c++ template/skeleton bit of code somewhere that would draw a basic window and let me add the file-open dialog to it? For the text environment, is there a set of BASH menu scripts that would work? I guess I could create my own with ls, awk '{print NR,NR,$0 }', read, and case, but if I can avoid reinventing the wheel, that would be great. [opensuse] Kooka|Sane and Network scanner

Hi, At the office we have a Lanier multifunction machine (printer/scanner), cups can handle the printer part, but I haven't found a way to use sane with the network scanner function. I know there's a Windows supported app that can handle this, but I can't find anywhere if it uses a standard protocol or how the connection is made (tcp/ip port). Anyone got this kind of machine working for remote scanning?, I know you can scan-to-email, but i'm looking to use Kooka with it... [opensuse] Re: postfix+imap vs. client connection

I've been spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to get Postfix to work. I have been configuring with yast and all the elements appear to have started based upon pid values. Postfix is supposed to be dumping to Cyrus-imap. All SSL configurations are set and the values in main.cf are correct based upon my entries in yast. All the certs appear to have been generated appropriately. On a Kmail client, however, I'm getting the message "Login only available under a layer". Since all the TLS stuff appears to be running on the server I'm up the proverbial creek with no clue. Anybody that can give some direction? [opensuse] not able to receive emails

HI all I've got a real strange issue on opensuse 11.0 that has just started this weekend, i've had this operating fine for years.. kmail and opera can log into my ISP's POP servers fine (to prove it, I gave wrong passwords and the logins were rejected) but always comes back saying there are no new messages even though i can check via webmail that messages do exist in those accounts. My time is displayed is displayed correctly on the desktop (we've just gone back one hour). If i use windows outlook express and opera on windows, it download emails fine. Both machines are behind the same router. The emails also appear on my blackberry ok. I've tried this using 2 logins on opensuse, one KDE3.5.10 and one KDE4 (from factory) but using Kontact/KDE3 on both logins and the result is the same.
