[opensuse] mouse pointer disappears

Hi: Running SuSE 10.2 on HP Pavilion AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+. My mouse pointer disappears every so often. The mouse is still working, so to speak - I just can't see it. Using keyboard controls I have tried changing personal settings in KDE to a new mouse scheme. That does not help. Even restarting KDE does not help. So far, only a reboot restores the mouse pointer. [opensuse] ssh problem from remote LAN

Hello, Set up a SLES 10 server and although I can ssh to it from any box on the local LAN I can't get to it from a remote LAN even though I can ssh to any other box on the local LAN via ssh. All of the other servers are running Suse 9.1 to Suse 10, while the one I can't connect to remotely is running SLES 10. The sshd_config is identical to the other servers and the firewall is off. Nmap results show that the ssh port on the SLES 10 server is appearing as filtered from the remote network and open from the local LAN. Only the SLES 10 box has this behavior. Hi there! have you tried with alsamixer? make sure that the "Capture" settings are reasonable... [opensuse] Dual boot vista/opensuse 10.2

Hello, I have just purchased a brand new HP laptop which comes with vista preinstalled. Of course the first thing Id like to do is install 10.2. Some googling, however taught me that there have been some problems with getting a dual boot setup to work without nuking your partition table/bootsector/vista install. I wanted to ask for any experiences others may have had on a vista machine. Especially concerning partitioning, will yast correctly resize the vista partition (I understand NTFS has changed) or should I use some other tool first? Any tips/experiences appreciated. On openSUSE 10.2, Dell D820 Anyone using Visio Standard 2003 (because I have to for work) in CrossOver. It works but the screen refresh is really really slow? Other CrossOver apps are fine. [opensuse] Interesting Boot Problem

I've just installed openSuSE 10.2, everything went fine, all hardware was identified, my primary hard drive mapped to sda, my ARECA raid neatly mapped to sdb, all was right in the world... Then, for some reason, today when I rebooted the system my primary drive mapped to sdb and my raid array mapped to sda... I've changed nothing since the last boot except trivial stuff like adding user accounts etc. Naturally the boot process now fails as it can't mount the root file system, as it's looking for it on sda2 which as I said now points to my big empty raid array. Several hours of web searching has left me with the impression that I should be able to force the physical devices (some sort of BIOS naming) to map to a static logical device (sda...), but I'm not sure what files to edit and what the syntax would be???
