Massive Fonts (GeForce 5200)

I've been having a problem with my graphics card and SLED 10. The fonts are so big they take up a quarter of the screen, so the system is basically unusable. Interestingly the problem can be excaserbated on other distributions by using XGL, but even if I turn off XGL in SLED I still get this problem. I've done a search on the web and the only other person I can find with this problem was using the proprietary nvidia driver and a GeForce 5200... but this was in 2004. Is this a weird problem with my GPU? Any idea how I can fix this? -- Andrew Betts Jasp

Disappearing mouse cursor

I'm running KDE under SuSE 10.0. Sometimes when I've left the computer running for a while by itself and the screen saver comes on, I come back and discover that there's no mouse cursor. I don't see any pattern to when it happens and when it doesn't. So-- 1. Is there anything I can do less drastic than Ctl-Alt-Bksp (which works) to get the cursor back? It clearly must be something that I can do from the keyboard alone. 2. What is likely to be causing the problem? Paul

xgl and twinview

Hello I have been trying out xgl and been reading up on xgl and have read that cvs versions of xgl support twinview. I have installed xgl via yast but still when maximizing a window it spans both screens. X server difficulties: addendum

I have lost the ability to run kde as my normal user. It will run as root, but I don't like to do that. Hi, Anyone have installed rernel 2.6.18_rc5 from SL-OSS-factory on SuSE 10.1 ? ftp.gwdg.de:/linux/suse/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/suse/i586/kernel-smp-2.6.18_rc5_git6.rpm Did this update break up something on 10.1 or require any extra updates?

Configuring TouchPad

Hi, How do I change the Sensitivity, Palm Check and the Zone settings of the touch pad in SuSe 10.1 My machine is a R52 IBM Thinkpad. I have searched in harware settings under Yast and under Personal Settings but couldn't find any such option. ugly openoffice menu fonts in suse 10.1

Hello all: I use SUSE 10.1 with its default OpenOffice version (2.0.2 build 2.0.2.15). In some menus the fonts looks very strange, pale (or even impossible to read) and ugly. For example in the print dialog the 'properties' button's fonts, in the format paragraph and format page dialogs some lines etc. The fonts in the text editor window and on the printouts look OK. I don't know if it's important or not but I have ATI Radeon 7000 vga card and use the native linux radeon driver. What would be the solution to make these fonts look normal? Update SUSE 10.0 to SUSE 10.1

Hi all, In the past I had problems when updating an existing SUSE installation to a newer version (I think it was 8.0 to 8.3 back then). I therefore had to do a clean install, and then having to do all the setups for all the other things I had on the older version like Evolution. It is becoming quit a laborious exercise if there are a dozen or so stations to be updated. Is it advisable to update the present SUSE 10.0 systems to SUSE 10.1, and later to 10.2 in stead of each time a new install? Any experiences welcome. :-) Al

autoconf not found

Hi all, Trying to build KOPETE in a SLED 10.1 box. Following http://kopete.kde.org/svnaccess.php, I've installed subversion and submitted svn commands. All three seems to do well. make claims it needs autoconf. I've installed it, 2.59-92.2 version, and submitted the line again but I keep getting the following message: citlali:~/kdenetwork # make -f Makefile.cvs This Makefile is only for the CVS repository This will be deleted before making the distribution ./admin/cvs.sh: line 33: --version: command not found *** AUTOCONF NOT FOUND!. *** KDE requires autoconf 2.53 or newer make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1 make: *** [all] Error 2 citlali:~/kdenetwork # Please, could you help me with this issue?
