Try either PuTTY SFTP or PuTTY SCP. You can find the URL via Google for downloading. They also have a client for SSH called PuTTY SSH. Oh, they are all free to use as well! Hi all, I'm trying to work with text files that have mixed hard hyphens (ascii decimal 45) and soft hyphens (ascii decimal 255) and I need something that will let me distinguish between the two. hp-ux has a utility called vis that does just what I need-type "vis <filename>" and it returns text with everything above 7 bit ascii encoded as \(decimal number). Is there an equivalent in SUSE? I've looked and can't find anything. Or any other suggestions? Thanks Dave Driscoll

Hi all, I am still wondering when we will see some documentation on susewatcher or if there is a fix for the problem of it trying to use a modem connection when you have cable. When changing the config file to reflect direct connection it returns to dial-up soon after you restart the program. It will check thru the direct connection, I can confirm that, but only manually. Otherwise it's automatic features are null & void, because it keeps returning itself to dial-up configuration. I have also contacted feedback(a)suse.com, but as of today, not gotten a response. Hi, Can someone at suse please put the complete "find" file at ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/find The existing file is truncated, and hence a bad file is mirrored throughout the world, with all sites using rsync with you. The existing file is incomplete. Please check this and if possible, let us know. Citrix Client v7 and SuSE 8.2

SuSE 8.2 and gcc 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux)

Hey Group; I as well as others on this list have complained about every program that used to compile is failing under 8.2 and gcc 3.3. Try "gcc --version" gcc (GCC) 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux) So, I tried to compile SuSE's stock 8.2 kernel with their /boot/vmlinuz.config as the /usr/src/linux/.config file on a 100% fresh CD load (second time for SuSE 8.2). It built the kernel (right or wrong for this system - who cares!) with make menuconfig exit and save .config and other files ("make xconfig" fails to work in X due to a TK/TCL error) make dep make clean make bzImage worked correctly - Now make modules and a failure from the compiler message. Getting keyboard input to work with Hoyles Word Games and wine

Hello list, I can get the above mentioned game to install and start to the screen where it asks for the player to enter their name. But no matter what I do, there is no input on the screen. I can see by looking in the console from which I started wine that all of the keypresses that I did are there and not in the game. I downloaded the newest version of wine from the suse FTP server. Anyone have a clue??? I did a web search with Google and nothing helped. Posted a SOS on the Franks World site for help also. I'm hoping maybe someone might know how to get the input from the keyboard to appear in the game.
