Every time I make a new install I am wondering if scanning for braille is normal practice for other OS. Is that something only SuSE does? Does Windows has this kind of service? And has somebody an idea how often braille is used? Somebody on the list using it? Just wondering.

Imlib2

Does anyone know if there is a pre-packaged version of imlib2 available for SuSE. I'd need the devel package also. I can't get it to compile on my machine for some reason, it keeps complaining about libjpeg, even though I have it installed. I have a program I would like to compile that needs imlib2. libttf.so

I have a couple of questions regarding FreeType. I'm currently trying to compile a program that needs libttf.so. From what I've gathered, it's part of the FreeType 1.x packages. However, I'm using SuSE 8.2 and have FreeType2 installed instead. It doesn't seem to have libttf.so. Now, is it possible to do parallel installs of FreeType? or is there a way to get the files I need to be able to compile this program? KPPP

I have a slight kppp problem. The first time I try to connect using kppp after a boot, it gets a far as "Logging on to the network" and then I get the error message: The pppd daemon died unexpectedly. Exit status, 15, or 16, or even 3 Running kppp again, it connects OK. It then works each time I connect until the first time after the next boot, when I get the same error message. I have checked everything and can't find anything wrong; neither can I find anything about this in the docs or list archives. If I have missed the answer, apologies! Can anyone give me some help, please? I have a dial-up modem connection, and have no problems with KInternet. I am running SuSE8.2 Many thanks Keith

VMWare Install

I cannot get VMware to install. It's asking me to build a kernel module. I have pointed it to my kernel source directory, but still am having now luck. Has anyone had any experience with this?
