It is extremly fast and offers an unique approach to the world of 3D. You can generate commercials, technical presentations and business graphics. It offers things like morphing, and makes the development of user interface easy. * cipe 0.5.3 (encoded IPIP-Tunnel) (not on SuSE Linux international) CIPE stands for 'Crypto IP Encapsulation'. It allows to set up secure 'Virtual Private Networks'. * convert 1.3 Converts abaout 700 phys. units into each other * dap (Digital Audio Processor) Application to edit audio samples. Supports AIFF and AIFF-C with 8 or 16 Bit and 1,2 or 4 channels * ezwgl 1.38 (GUI-Bibliothek) * faxedit 1.14 (simple editor for pbm-Dateien) Provides a simple way to answer faxes. You can cut off parts, modify them in size or position, etc. Allows you to enter text and print prewiews. * fbm (Fuzzy Pixmap Manipulation Tools) Tools using libfbm. * fbm2fli create animations from fbm-picture-files. * fhs 2.0 (Filesystem Hierarchy Standard) Document describing the new standard for the Linux (Unix) filesystem hierarchy. * filerun 2.4.2 (X11 filemanager) * gif (gif tools) Conversation of gif files in other formats. * global 2.24 GLOBAL is a commen tag-system for C and Yacc. Allows the easy creation of HTML references for complex sourcecodes (like X or the Linux-Kernel). * gltt (library for TrueType with OpenGL) * ircd (Internet Relay Chat Server) IRC server * libgif (Gif-Bibliothek) Library of functions to modify gif images * liblug (Multi-Format graphic library) Supports GIF, PCX, TGA, RGB, TIFF, PIX, RLA, RLE, PBM, PGM, PNM, RAW, JPG * lam (LAM/MPI parrallel computing) * LAM (Local Area Multicomputer) is a MPI (Message Passing Interface) programming environment and development system for heterogenous networks. With LAM you can use a cluster of existing computers as a single parrallel processor. LAM has lots of debugging options and is very performant. It's a full implementation of the MPI standard for parrallel processing. * maxwell 0.5.2 (text processor) * netacct 0.4 (account for network traffic) * netcat 1.10 (a simple but powerfull networking tool) * pvm 3.4.beta6 (Parallel Virtuall Machine) PVM allows to use a pool of computer as one virtual machine. Applications are written in C, C++ or Fortran, and access the system via the PVM library. * roottail Displays one or more files in different colors on the X11 root window. * slab 2.1 (sound tool) incl. recording studio, mixer... * sox (sound tool) All purpose tool for modifing and converting sound files. (command line) * sp (SGML Parser-Tool) Process SGML and XML documents. If anyone is interested in LaTeX, here are some of the resources that I know of. I know it's not a whole lot, but may be a pointer for starters. www.tug.org www.tex.ac.uk A Guide to Latex 2E : Document Preparation for Beginners and Advanced Users (Kopka, Helmut) LaTex : A Documentation Preparation System User's Guide and Reference Manual These are the ones that I have used before. I used both the books when I got started. They are both available through www.amazon.com . Check in your local bookstore as well. I am wondering what will happen if I were to put in two processors which are of different stepping into a multiprocessor machine. Has anyone encountered this before? Currently, I have a PPro 200 256K Stepping 9 and I want to order another one, but I don't know if it'll be Stepping 9 as well or not. Regards, C. J. While I am reading up on cron, perhaps someone could save me the time and tell me briefly how I could have cron mail my /var/log/httpd.access_log to root every 24 hrs and start a new one. Hi, I have a 2 computer intranet :-) at home. One of them runs only linux and is configured as a server of httpd, ftp, news, dns, mars, samba, etc. The other runs both linux and window$. When i boot linux in the client machine all works ok. All shared stuff is shared, i can telnet, ftp, lynx, etc. into it. When i boot window$, i can not do anything. The exact simptom in telnet is that the login goes ok and i get the prompt from bash. When i do an ls in an empty directory it goes ok. If i try do ls the / directory i stop getting echo. If i Ctrl-D the keystroke gets to the server and kills the connection but i cannot see anything on the terminal window. With ftp i get the first two lines of the server welcome message and then it stops. With dns all works ok. I think that if there is very little data to cross the network all is ok. If the ammount of data goes over some quantity, which i don't know, the server stops sending data to the client. Can anyone help me in figuring out what is going on ? Remember that all works ok with linux. Hello, I am downloading (as i type) the basic packages for suse (a1,a2,d1,d2,doc1,n1) are the packages kde1 and kde2 necessary for a base install? The purpose of this install is so that i can do a NFS install after i get PPP working, i dont know if kde is required for PPP or NFS to work. please respond asap. [S.u.S.E. Linux] FireGL 1000 X-Server Not Working

I have a Diamond FireGL 1000, and I am trying to get it to work with the Elsa Gloria X server. But the driver keeps saying that it cannot detect any configured device. When I turn on the -verbose flag, it tells me that it cannot probe the PCI bus.
