At the moment we have three .po/.pot (openSUSE SVN, partly translated upstream, Stanislav's .pot), and we don't know where to commit it. Plus it seems we are expected to correct also the origial text. Fedora did something simpler: they extracted the UI strings and translated those. They are only 67 ( http://translate.fedoraproject.org/module/packagekit ), and for the available languages, I think those strings should be reused. There's no need to translate the whole .po and there's no need to standardise string tagging, because our teams accepted to translate openSUSE, its additions and not applications. Moreover I still don't understand why it was decided to include that GUI for the updater if it was not properly translated before the decision. It's simply the wrong approach, and it shows once again that the importance given to localization is too low at opensuse. On my side, I decided not to proceed with its translation and to give priority to the rest of the distribution, to which this file does not belong to. There is no algorithm to decide, which of the conflicting translations is correct. Not providing translation back is a bad approach of Ubuntu, which duplicates the translation effort. I am not a person organizing translations. I am only a package maintainer, who did some voluntary translation in past. But from my aspect of view, it would be simplest to translate directly in upstream. Upstream strictly requires conforming to national translation conventions and a responsive contact person. If translators don't want to (can't) use SVN directly (and ask for commit permission to GNOME SVN), then they may use SVN submit contact person in Novell, who knows SVN and who will submit translations back. Keeping contact person e-mail is mandatory. I can imagine even a very simple automatic tool, which will extract translation from the Novell database, verify the translation by gettext tools and merge it back to upstream as soon as possible, and another tool, which will extract upstream translation and put to Novell database. Los de Gnome tienen un gnome-packagekit (traducción del UI)* bastante adelantado, lo que no sé es si se puede utilizar para mergearlo o adaptarlo de alguna manera con el suse... ¿Traducimos el paquete, lo dejamos...? Pregunta simple :-), actualmente el script que actualiza las estadísticas, al detectar cambios, aparte de informar al usuario, cambia el estado del mensaje a "Pendiente de revisión", mi pregunta es, sería mejor cambiar el estado asignando el archivo a quien lo haya traducido (o revisado si no existe el primero)? -- Kind Regards

Either the requested version resource is out of date (needs to be updated), or the requested version resource is newer than the transaction root (restart the commit). Emiezo a alucinar en colores. Se me ocurre una idea... vuelvo a mirar el correo, y tengo otro: + N 986 08-04-15 23:14 Verbum (2570) Archivo verbum_20080415215346_maacruz.tar.gz. Persistido por dahoo O sea, alguien ya lo había persisitido, y colisioné. :-( Hay que inventar otro procedimiento, porque aparte del tiempo invertido en tratar de persistirlo, ahora tengo que gastar más tiempo en deshacer los cambios en mi sistema para poder recuperar: borrar "yast/es/po/kerberos.es.po", hacer "svn up" para recuperar... y soltar la bronca aquí pa' desahogarme :-p Lo ideal sería que el Verbum pudiera subir el fichero por sus medios, pero eso no lo veo posible. Igual los de Novell se portan y pueden crear un robot de subidas, pero tardarán un año si se deciden. ¿Poner un semáforo en el verbum? Hola, Sé que puede sonar un poco raro, pero... ¿Alguien sabe algo de las teselaciones cuasi-periódicas y de Roger Penrose? Estoy buscando la traducción al español de una frase que, aparentemente, dijo el profesor en relación al pleito que tuvo con la empresa Kimberly-Clark (la de los pañuelos kleenex) sobre el infringimiento de una patente de patrones singulares... No preguntar... sólo digo que quien quiera aumentar conocimientos de todo tipo de teorías físicas, matemáticas, modelado de objetos en 4 dimensiones, fractales de Mandelbrot, conjuntos de Julia, modelados imposibles de figuras geométricas, funciones iteradas, autómatas interactivos y demás... que se ponga a traducir los salvapantallas... ¡la leche! =:-O No me atrevo a traducir esta frase sin conocer un poco más su contexto, y como no la he encontrado traducida al español, pregunto, por si alguien ha leído sobre el tema, sabe de qué va o conoce la traducción. No acabo de entender en Verbum el estado de la traduccion. Puede ser un problema de las estadisticas. El caso es que aparecen marcados en rojo paquetes que ya estan traducidos. Alguien puede aclararme algo??? Es para saber por donde seguir. Un saludo Lluis
