Hi all, Again thanks for participating in the collaboration day on Social Media. I have written an overview, I hope one of the news editors on this list has time to take a look and maybe find a pretty picture to accompany our success story :D Meanwhile there are a few things which are close to being finished, but aren't there just yet. My pet peeve: the short descriptions of openSUSE. They are here: http://ietherpad.com/idAZ997QVS I have used part of that text to make a start on the two folders that we'll need: http://piratepad.net/xKoBE4vmSM for potential contributors http://piratepad.net/d8xWTUwHq3 for potential users Both need a lot of work and any help here is appreciated too! I really appreciated the work done on the feature guide, I worked on it some more and I hope we can get it a bit further and finish it during the marketing meeting in Februari. Anyone who has some spare time, check it out here: http://manugupt1.ietherpad.com/4 I can however hapilly tell you that the article we wanted to write about new openSUSE projects is pretty much there now - some finishing touches and it can go live on news.opensuse.org! Great work all involved! Wow. That's a large bunch of writing things. I know not all of you like that stuff, so - who comes up with tasks that are less writy? ;-) Let me name one: we need themes for Identi.ca, Blogger and Twitter! Shouldn't be incredibly hard to make and I'm sure Robert Lihm, gnokki, Javier and our other artists can and will help here. Cheers, Jos

Recently a discussion with Alberto P got me into afew details about SUSE Studio 1. I add a single package, then it is not openSUSE, I have to debrand it. 3. So what about the derivatives we have 4. We promote it, but is not wrong? 5. [opensuse-marketing] Last Call - Chemnitzer Linux-Tage

Hello, So I already did the registration for the booth Chemnitzer Linux-Tage. http://chemnitzer.linux-tage.de/2011/ They need 2 persons for the registration. So I used Michal Hrusecky as the second person. They do that to make sure the booth is always manned with a person. They have high quality standards there. So there is a limit for the booth personal too. They have that because they offer a full service package for all contributors to the event, means place to sleep, breakfast, lunch, backstage area and the social event for free. So if someone like to be there and help on the booth step forward. fifo system ;) So far as I know Saigkill and Kai-Uwe Behrmann plans an second booth with openSUSE medical and Oyranos, hope they get an full time booth. The can surly use an 3rd person (more I dont think they get for it) I also proposed 2 talks (A-Z Guide, openSUSE 11.4) and a workshop (Inkscape), so far as I know maybe one of it get denied (because they think its to much for one person). There is definitly place for more!!! So if someone like todo the 11.4 talk, would be ok. As mentioned in previous emails, the Marketing Team will be hosting a Marketing Hackfest in Los Angeles, CA the week of February 21. This will coincide with the SCALE conference at the end of the week. Several of you have already sent in your applications to participate in the hackfest, and we thank you for doing so. We know that there are more of you out there who expressed an interest to go and we urge you to apply before tomorrow's deadline. How? Send Jos an email with your estimated budget for airfare to Los Angeles (LAX Airport is recommended). There are several airports in the Southern California area, but I recommend you use LAX if possible. The hackfest will cover the costs of hotel during your stay in Los Angeles. If you are approved by Jos, we will attempt to cover 80% of your airfare costs. Please do this by tomorrow if at all possible so we can move ahead with planning.
