Hi All,
I have a big problem with the home page of the italian wiki. I've
setup the same template of the english one but after saved the code
the page loads " {} " instead of the translated content... for
example, this is the code with the translated content:

In the output there are all the lines which split the images from the
content, but in the last one's box there is only this: " {} ".
Why?
(Obviously now i have restored the old page.)
Thanks in advance,
Bye
Giuseppe

As far as I am concerned, we're good to go to switch to the new PlanetSUSE
setup I've been hacking on the last few days.
It's currently running at
http://planet.opensuse.org/2/
(feeds not updated at the moment, as long as it's not live ;))
So this is the last chance to complain about issues and give input about
features to add, even though the latter would be for after going live with a
first version, except if it's a blocker ;)
(sorry for cross-posting, but not everyone is on opensuse-marketing@)
cheers

Hello ,
Now that opensuse 11.3 launch is near or almost near :) . Its time to
start preparing for openSUSE 11.3 promotional video.This time i really
have something different to make , that said a different concept from
that of 11.2 [1] . In this video i would propose or rather like to see
the openSUSE Board in action.
I mean to have the Board members on screen . Where the members would
speak a little on the latest openSUSE version and also mention some KEY
FEATURES of the same.I plan to have the entire video of not more than
1.15 sec (this is just me).But only showcasing members is not enough
featuring some screenshots is also a necessary and will surely be taken
care of.
This concept have got several benefits after all Board is one the best
marketing tools for openSUSE and should be utilized with utmost care :)
. Also the Board will get a chance to spread there message to a wider
public or audience specially in Launch Parties and similar events.
I already had a regarding this with Pascal (yaloki) but this is just a
raw idea , so your valuable comments and feedback will be very much
appreciated.
PS:I hope this would not affect Board with its other tasks and
coordinate effectively ;) .

As introduced in
http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-marketing/2010-03/msg00163.html
Updated version (same URL):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2940942/planet_opensuse_draft/index.html
Done:
* improved style
* proper feed list (on a separate page)
* vim-like keyboard navigation (j, k)
* hackergotchis and speaking bubbles on the right (matter of taste, I guess)
* tested on w3m (works great)
* the feed list aggregates feeds by name
TODO:
* put it into git/svn
* test + fix with more browsers, although I already had positive reports from
many, including mobile browsers (elastic/fluid layout rocks after all ;))
* non-English planets
* a mobile browser optimised page (to be discussed, ideas/feedback is more
than welcome, I don't own such a thing)
* integrate the nice Planet SUSE logo [1] made by jimmac (still waiting for
the SVG, *prod* *prod* ;))
[1]http://planet.opensuse.org/planet-suse.png
Feedback is more than welcome, as always.
cheers
