I've got one small question, is there a 64 bit image of promo dvd of openSUSE 11.1 ?? I mean the one that has live cd's in it. I have only 32 bit version of that dvd and i wonder if there is one 64 bit version? I'm being asked for "screenshots of 11.2" -- I know that it's way early for that, but if anyone's running Factory and feels like starting an 11.2 screenshot page, I could make a journalist very happy. [opensuse-marketing] OpenSUSE 11.11

May be this is not a popular idea, at least for the standard opensuse release. I am a happy opensuse user. Unfortunately, OpenSUSE 11.1 was born just one month before KDE 4.2. I have tried KDE Four Live (KDE 4.2), and extremely happy with its stability :) Yess, it is 10 times more stable than the official release of OpenSUSE 11.1- KDE. And stability is one of the good point of OpenSUSE. In my opinion, KDE 4.2 is too good. It is too long to wait until OpenSUSE 11.2 is released. I hope Opensuse can make "intermediate release" to include KDE 4.2. If it is not possible, just make an unofficial release, but published in opensuse website, I mean something like KDE Four Live, but with DVD instalation media, both for i586 and x86-64. Hopefully, it will become a good marketing for OpenSUSE, especially for OpenSUSE-KDE. The openSUSE Project is pleased to announce the release of the openSUSE Trademark Guidelines[1] (PDF). With the guidelines, the openSUSE Project is looking to clarify the use of the openSUSE marks and make it easier to redistribute openSUSE-based projects. Since it's easier than ever to create customized versions of openSUSE, we've seen a lot of interest in the branding of derivative distros. When is it OK to call a distro "openSUSE," or "powered by openSUSE," and when does the branding need to be removed entirely? The guidelines are an attempt to answer as many of those questions as possible in one concise document. What Do the Guidelines Cover? ============================= The openSUSE Trademark Guidelines cover using the openSUSE marks for derivative distributions, merchandise, domain names, advocacy groups, events, publications, advertising materials, and much more. If you're doing anything that involves redistributing openSUSE or materials with the openSUSE marks, you should look over the trademark guidelines to ensure that your use is permitted. Seeking Special Permission ========================== If you want to use the official openSUSE marks, but fall outside the permitted uses_ _it is still possible to get permission. If you'd like to seek special permisison, send an email to permission(a)novell.com[2] with your contact information and an explanation of the situation. Hi all, Thanks for all the input and comments so far on the openSUSE Trademark Guidelines. As mentioned when announced, we don't believe that this is the final word on the guidelines - we expected feedback and to need to make changes to the guidelines. To continue the discussion, we've added some pages to the wiki for changes. We've put up the guidelines on the wiki here: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Trademark_Guidelines And a page for suggested changes here: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Trademark_Guidelines_v2 Finally, we also have a page to add use cases where the current guidelines may be either unclear or too restrictive. (Or, not restrictive enough...). If you have use cases / examples, please add here: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Trademark_Guidelines_use_cases Discussion is encouraged on the lists, but we can't guarantee it will be collated when we revise the guidelines - so please add to the wiki if there's something that needs to be changed.
