i just want to install openSUSE Beta3 on a PPC iBook on an external
USB-HARDDRIVE. So theres my Problem:
After installing the kernel an a minimal amount of apps of the
openSUSE CD1, the YAST-Setup Tool wants me to restart my machine. So
after doing it and pressing the ALT-Key after the beep, the external
USB-Drive isnt bootable yet, so that I cant booting my newly
installed openSUSE Beta3. Looking for help on google I found out,
that I should do something with the yaboot-bootmanager! Also the
description of booting into openSUSE on the openSUSE website doesnt
Would somebody help me, and give just a little step-by-step
description how I get this drive bootable, to start to my newly

I have 2 pcs of old hardware it its IBM's PPC RS6000 43 P-150
They have have very nice graphics cards IBM's GXT 3000P
What SUSE release should i use on these ones ?
What would be the best use for them as servers or desktop machines ?
