LILO Question

I am dual booting OSX and OpenSUSE 10.0 RC1 PPC on a G4 Powermac digital audio using LILO. I set up LILO per the instructions in this document; http://www.opensuse.org/PPC_Installation_Issues The problem I am having is that I only get the "Press spacebar to boot OSX" prompt for maybe 2 seconds before yaboot comes up. How can I make that prompt appear longer? I have Linux set as the default in LILO . If I make OSX the default I have the opposite problem. I saw some info on it, but when I went into a kernel "make xconfig", it did not have the modules for it. Most of the stuff on the net is only as new as kernel v2.4, so I'll have to see if I can recompile it if I feel adventerous. Like the firewire, it isn't that important. Couple of other things: KInfoCenter - When I select info about SCSI, it is unable to display anything. The PCI list shows the Apaptec card. SaX2 - Cannot configure anything in it. No matter what I do, nothing works other than the recommended config(which at least works). I tried the 15bit and 24bit color like you suggested, but still no luck(of course, I need another 2MB VRAM for 24b I believe. This isn't really a problem since it works, but thought I would pass it on. There is no SuSEPlugger. Is this going to be added? The USB card I am using is a Via card that uses the UHCI module, and the kernel config said something about how it won't work with the HIDBP module being loaded, but I couldn't find any more info. I'm going to try my Belkin 2.0 card when I figure out which machine I put it in and see if it helps. I'll post that info you asked about when I get the chance. Thanks for all the help. I'll also post my /var/log/boot.msg when I get a chance. This machine isn't connected to the net right now. I may also try to pull RC1 to see if it helps any. Also, I haven't set it up to boot automatically into Linux. It still goes into Yast, and I boot the installed system. PowerMac 7500 questions

I have a few more questions about my PowerMac. I am still running Beta 3, and probably will wait for the official release on 10/6 to update. This PowerMac has a built-in firewire port. Can it be enabled, and what is the module name? The Mac also has a PlanB Video In adpater. Can it be enabled, and do any programs like the TV viewer make use of it? When I Swapped out the built-in cd-rom for a SCSI CD burner, it doesn't recognize the burner as a burner. Will it see the burner, or do I need to re-install. Any help would be appriciated. Can't install on Firewire drive

I would like to install SuSE 10 b4 on an external Firewire drive but it fails. I have loaded the firewire components, but still failing ... Yast recognized my hardrive, I could select my partition and format it, but it failed to install when installation process began. No thermal fan support on iMac G5

When i boot on the install CD of SuSE 10 b4, there is no Thermal fan support for the iMac G5 ... Some issues with my 7500 and Beta 3

I still have Beta 3 on here, but here is a few issues I have noticed: Yast did NOT detect the onboard MESH controller of my PMac 7500 and was not able to start the install automatically. However, it did detect the onboard NCR53cX secondary controller as well as the Adaptec 2940UW card. When I try to select my monitor, the colors are messed up. However, if I use SaX2's recommended config, it is fine. Also, I am unable to select the video card. I installed a USB 1.1 card, a Via card. It was detected, and I am able to make use of my USB key drive, but nothing else. My USB mouse and printers are not detected. It would be nice to be able to use a real mouse..... Sounds does not always work at first. Upon booting and loggin in, either the onboard sound is unavailable or both it and my Creative SB PCI 512 is unavailable. However, when I log out and back in, it works properly. When I run frozen bubble, it seems to setup as a 640x480 screen size. Is there any way to fix this? It diesn't do it on my other Intel based systems. I will hopefully pull RC1 this weekend and re-install it with a larger hard drive. So far, I am VERY happy with what I have seen. Thanx for bringing back PPC support even tho Apple has jumped ship! Any suggestions would be appriciated.
