The iBook G3 come with a white LED that's active if the device sleeps.
On 10.2 during installation you seem to misuse it to signal hard disk
activity. How can I disable it?

Hello all again!
having lost my mac boot partition few days ago, one of the first tries
I did to fix was to "upgrade" to factory version. So I tryed to boot
the openSUSE-NET-ppc-Build0022-Media.iso and tried to install, even if
I noticed that the volume is labelled "FIXME".
Indeed it does not install.
I stumbled into two problems: it doesn't work through a squid proxy and
it doesn't see my ATA hard disk at all. The first problem could be
easily bypasswd by hooking the mac directly to the internet. The second
is something that I don't know if I can do something about. Reverting
to good old 11.1 release I see nothing labeled "ata" if i issue an
lsmod command, so I don't know which driver is to blame (sungem?).
Is there something I should do to help fixing that? Should I file a
report to bugzilla?
Thanks again, and excuse my poor english,
Luciano Mannucci.

Hello All!
I have a Powerpc G4 @ 1 GHz with opensuse 11.1 PPC and I did destroy
my yaboot partition. So recovering at least some control was'nt easy:
I managed to reboot from the old ISO installation DVD but it complains
about modules it cannot find, because the kernel release has changed
meanwhile.
To reset the machine to e reasonable state I think I have to restore
a yaboot and yaboot.conf of some kind on the mac boot partition and
bless(8) it in macOsX. I tried to launch "lilo" to achieve this, but
it complains about the "hda9" partition beeing read-only.
Anyone has ideas how I should proceed?
Many thanks to all in advance,
Luciano Mannucci.
